What she has forgotten to mention is that we are 2nd worse in infant mortality, and in the top 10 for teen pregnancy. We also have no Pre-K education, and turn down money to feed kids in need. We may birth them, but we sure don't take care of them! So, a weird, and sad, flex.

Leigh Ann and I are praying for the victims, their families, and all students at Apalachee High School in Barrow County.
We extend our gratitude to law enforcement for their swift action to secure the school and get the shooter in custody.
I have spoken with Sheriff Smith and told him my team and I are available to assist in any way necessary. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as prudent.

Here's Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in April 2022 signing Senate Bill 319, the law that allows anyone to carry a concealed handgun in public without first obtaining a license.
I have directed all available state resources to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School and urge all Georgians to join my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state. (1/2)
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
SB319 doesn’t allow “anyone” to carry without a license. It only allows “lawful weapons carriers”—i.e. people who are eligible for a license under Georgia law. Among other things, that means a person must be 21 years old. The shooter was 14 and he was not carrying a handgun.
