Patrick Mahomes' and Tom Brady's postseasons by year.
Mahomes has been one of the best postseason QBs we've ever seen.
Brady posting good efficiency while also having by far the largest sample size this century is also very impressive.

a lesson on intellectual honesty from a person making a ridiculous Herbert for mvp 2025 campaign based on a a delusional metric of 'toughness' is a stretch. nitter.cf/minakimes/status/19988…

Fewest yards per dropback in a game over the last 2 seasons (minimum 30 dropbacks):
1. Cam Ward (Week 1, 2025) – 1.82
2. Brandon Allen (Week 18, 2025) – 2.10
3. Trey Lance (Week 18, 2025) – 2.17
4. Jalen Hurts (today vs Rams) – 2.19
Ward was in his NFL debut. Allen was his only appearance in 2025. Lance was his only start of the season.

I have long stated that Justin Herbert is not a starting caliber Quarterback. I was admonished. I have been vindicated.
I have stated that Drake Maye’s 2025 season was but a product of good fortune and poor opposition. I was tormented. I have been vindicated.
I have long stated that Deshaun Watson, in spite of his history of promiscuity, is a top-10 NFL Quarterback (effectiveness, cet. par.). I was tortured. I have been vindicated.
Chargers and Patriots fans: apologize now.
Browns fans: congratulations. Apologize now.

Pleased to announce the launch of YUNO Sports, a data analytics site that my lovely wife and I built (literal mom and pop operation)
The idea: sports data methods have lived with coding dorks for too long. YUNO is about empowering to do it yourself 🧵 yunosports.com/?v=2
Dead Internet Theory… this entire thread is bots.
I am losing respect for a lot of people lately, saying things like that:
Terence Tao: "We have to slow down AI. The pace is insane, and there's no reason to be this fast — no reason at all"
who clearly care more about their ego than the greater good for all humanity.
We’re not moving fast, not even close. We’re extremely early.
The world looks almost the same as it did in 2010.
Of course there is a reason to move faster. Just one of them would be curing diseases faster = saving millions of lives, including possibly your parents, grandparents, or younger family members who may, for example, get cancer any day.

Offensive Playcallers by EPA/DB [Last 5 Years]
@FantasyPtsData
Kyle Shanahan leads by a mile, and the next closest is Patrick Mahomes.
I think this shows exactly why he's the GOAT.
His QBs were Brock Purdy (Mr. Irrelevant), Jimmy G (trash), Trey Lance (trash), and Josh Dobbs (trash), throwing to backups WRs/TEs because everyone is hurt every year.
Sean McVay's QBs were Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford.

josh allen has ruined QB projections by being such an historical outlier
this is particularly relevant with caleb williams - "if he can just fix the accuracy issues!" no, he won't, nobody does (except for josh)
same goes for trevor lawrence, bo nix, richardson, ward, dart, etc.
Daily reminder that most of NFL Twitter is too retarded to understand which stats are useful.
Their litmus test for stat usefulness goes something like “does this make my QB look good?”
In seasons with amazing supporting casts:
Mahomes posted one of the best statistical peaks in NFL history.
Hurts managed top-5 efficiency only 1x (2022) and top-10 efficiency 2x (2022, 2024).
Great QB + great support = video game numbers
Mediocre QB + great support = Hurts
Frankly, I think this is just a lazy -- and probably disingenuous -- gotcha attempt, but I'll respond as if it's good faith.
1. AAV is generally a decent way of gauging relative value, but it falls apart when discussing QBs. QB pay is artifically deflated, because if they truly got paid what they were worth, you wouldn't be able to field a viable roster. The question is not 'what is this QB's isolated value', but rather 'what can we afford to pay this QB without gutting our entire roster.'
2. For a better gauge of QB and DE value, we can look at look at Wins Above Replacement (WAR) estimates. From the 2025 WAR figures in *Link 1*, we can compare T10 QB WAR vs Will Anderson's WAR:
In 2025, the top 10 QBs by WAR per 100 plays averaged 0.461 WAR. If we multiple this by 6 -- 600 plays being a reasonable full-season number of plays for a starting QB -- we get the WAR/season of a, average T10 QB: 2.77 WAR. If we repeat this process, but only extrapolate from the 10th-best QB: 2.13 WAR. By comparison, Will Anderson: 0.563 WAR in 2025. In other words, the ~10th-best QB ~3.8x more valuable than Will Anderson for a given season.
To put into perspective how much more valuable QB is than edge, of the 36 QBs with >250 plays in 2025, there are only 2 which recorded lower WAR/play than Will Anderson: Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
(see also *link 2* for some more writing on WAR and the methodology)
3. These WAR estimates are congruent with what we see in NFL betting line movements. When an elite QB projects to miss time, point spreads generally move ~5-7 points, vs an elite edge vausing ~1.0-1.5 point shift.
4. In additional to all of this, QBs have a lower injury risk than edge rushers (*link 3*).

She managed to gather a list of garbage counting stats and advanced stats that (mostly) exclude rushing value — awesome.
Now what about stats that include all plays (aDYAR per play, EPA/play, QBR)?
Not to mention that Caleb had the good-great weapons, a great OL, and a T5 offensive mind.
The Caleb stans are lobotomites.
