The nor’easter we've been tracking over the last few days officially has a name... Subtropical Storm Josephine has just formed off the Mid-Atlantic coast!
It’ll pull away from the U.S. over the next few days, but coastal flooding continues from the Outer Banks to the Chesapeake through tomorrow.
Way too close for comfort

BREAKING: Subtropical Storm Josephine just formed off the East Coast.
65 mph winds, about 265 miles south of Nantucket. Its 40 mph winds reach out 415 miles from the center.
It turns out to sea tomorrow, but the Mid-Atlantic coast keeps flooding at high tide through the rest of the week, and the surf and rip currents are dangerous up and down the East Coast.

The Hawaii Tourism Authority is asking Gov. Green for an official tourism emergency declaration because Kauai bookings dropped 59% after Hurricane Lowell and statewide demand is down 23%.
They want $2.5 million in marketing money to remind people the rest of the state is still open.
A storm on one island is now a statewide crisis requiring a declaration.
Priorities. 🤑

The Southern Taurid meteor shower will peak tonight, offering prime viewing conditions under moonless skies, if clouds cooperate in your area...
With a thin moon setting early, the sky will remain completely dark during the prime viewing window between 11 PM and 4 AM local time. Forecasts show mostly clear conditions for stargazers across the West Coast, the Southwest, and the Deep South. However, widespread clouds and rain will result in poor viewing across much of the Central U.S., including the Rockies, Plains, and Midwest, with similarly obstructed views stretching eastward into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
