“Because they have created nothing in their lives and were handed everything ready-made, they do not understand the value of the state”: Angela Achikgyozyan “During my 35 years of teaching and working with 17- and 18-year-olds, I have seen the level of ignorance steadily rise. In the United States, the situation regarding general knowledge is catastrophic. It benefits certain forces when young people lack political awareness and remain inactive because that makes them easier to manipulate. The same pattern can be applied to Armenia to understand why the 2018 revolution succeeded. You take a group of young people who do not understand who they are, what they represent or whether they possess any professional expertise. You tell them they are intelligent and capable of anything, appoint them to official positions and pay them very large salaries. Yet they do not understand what is happening in the world or what real life and the actual situation are truly about. In other words, exploiting ignorance and manipulating uninformed people is always very easy. During the election campaign, we saw what kinds of people were manipulated and how it was done. Because these people have created nothing in their lives and were handed everything ready-made, they do not understand the value of the state”, says Achikgyozyan.

Aliyev gets what he needs even without an agreement: Grigor Balasanyan International relations expert Grigor Balasanyan believes that a final peace agreement will not be signed because Aliyev is already getting everything he needs without one. “Aliyev has shown that he is an unreliable partner, and in fact, his behavior has always been this way. Why should we trust him? What has he done—released the prisoners or withdrawn his troops? We need to move beyond this empty, ceremonial rhetoric. He has never provided any guarantees that a peace agreement would actually be implemented,” Balasanyan said.

The delay in signing the peace agreement benefits both Nikol Pashinyan & Ilham Aliyev, as neither represents the interests of their respective countries, Tigran Kocharyan said in the AlphaNews studio. He made the remarks while commenting on recent regional political developments and the situation surrounding the peace agreement.

During an AlphaNews survey, Armenian Americans & local residents shared their concerns about the US domestic political situation. Many respondents said they did not trust politicians & had little hope that political promises or upcoming developments would bring meaningful change.

Just imagine: if the legal regulations fail to meet even the minimum standards established by the European Court, they become harmful to the state. Millions of dollars from the state budget—funded by all of us—would then have to be paid to the very people you claim to be fighting. The reason is that the law you drafted was of poor quality,” Vardevanyan said.

We regard mutual trust on this issue as the guarantee that the project will not deviate from its intended course or create a threat to Iran” Ambassador Shirgolami said.
