I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Patrick, he was great man not only mentoring me but many other young voices in today’s right-wing spheres. A great man lost far too soon, RIP 🕊️
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our friend, committed conservative, and longtime Turning Point UK adviser, Patrick Timms (@Ephelyon). Patrick passed away this morning after a long and courageous battle with a rare disease. Patrick had supported Turning Point UK since 2019. Having previously served as our Chief Technical Officer, he more recently became the driving force behind our website, generously giving his time and expertise to support our mission. Beyond his work with us, Patrick undertook undercover investigations to expose far-left organisations and activists, including Momentum, climate activists, the Socialist Workers Party, and prominent political figures such as Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott. His investigations into political extremism received national media coverage. As a result of his work, Patrick was violently attacked by leftist thugs, yet he refused to be intimidated and remained committed to exposing those he believed threatened our democracy and values. Patrick was also proud of his regular appearances on @TalkTV and his Wolves of Westminster (@WoWestminster) project. He generously mentored many young conservatives, encouraging and supporting the next generation of activists. Patrick's passion, courage, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs earned him the respect and friendship of many across the conservative movement. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Patrick's family and loved ones at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

If you cared about those workers or shops you’d have disavowed all of Labour’s budgets and the Employment Rights Act. Businesses are going out of business because of state overreach.
Poundland has filed to enter administration, putting 11,000 jobs at risk just weeks before Christmas, including here in Brixton. I stand with Poundland workers and @UsdawUnion. The owners must engage with workers and ministers, exploring every option to save jobs and shops.

8 pence off gherkins next year?
Andy Burnham has admitted that his first Budget was not radical enough. The Prime Minister said John Healey’s maiden fiscal plan on Wednesday had not included many of the measures the pair had wanted to take. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

You’re literally choosing social security over national security.
The Tories chose to hollow out Britain's armed forces. Labour chooses to defend our country.

Continued financial recklessness guaranteed until Burnham’s early election then

Did the “Makerfield test” include putting thousands of people out of job because of reckless economics.
Striking how few politicians have commented on Poundland potentially going bust. Think Burnham and Jenrick have - 600 stores at risk, more than WH Smith’s

Gruesome OBR projections on housing completions

Labour don’t understand business, how to prioritise, or the housing market. Welfare increases just mean more people are better off not working. The ERA means people will find it even harder to find a job, couple that with the minimum wage increase and Labour has condemned young people to unemployment. Inflation rising, likely primarily driven by a minimum wage increase, means said increases are pointless and will just make everyone feel poorer. Landlord tax will increase rent prices or discourage landlords from renting at all. Another Labour budget, another disaster.
🚨 SUMMARY: The OBR forecasts following John Healey's Budget - Welfare spending will rise to £431.3bn by 2030/31 - an increase of £97.5bn a year in cash terms - This includes £209.8bn on pensioner benefits, £110.7bn on Universal Credit, £69.6bn on disability benefits, £13.9bn on Child Benefit and £27.2bn on other welfare - Inflation will peak at 3.75% in early 2027, up from the earlier prediction of 2% - UK GDP growth will slow from around 1.25% in 2026 to 1% in 2027, before climbing to 1.6% in 2031 - Average UK unemployment will rise to 5.1% across 2026 and 2027 - The Employment Rights Act will "likely" have a negative economic impact because of reduced flexibility and greater uncertainty for businesses - The landlord tax increases (property income) could contribute to a long-term rise in private rents and discourage landlords from entering the market - Real household disposable income per person will be around 0.75% lower in 2030-31 than it expected in March 2026 - Higher earnings and frozen tax thresholds will increase income tax and National Insurance receipts by £9bn in 2026-27 and around £8bn on average in subsequent forecast years compared with March - Net migration is forecast to fall to 120,000 in the year to mid-2026, then gradually rise to 230,000 by the year to mid-2031 - Nominal weekly earnings growth will slow to around 3.5% in 2026, then average roughly 2.25% a year - Andy Burnham's first-time buyer scheme could raise house prices by increasing demand without enough new homes being built

Poor just poor, private sector wage growth will be even more stagnant with taxes increasing, people are simply just going to be poorer.
🚨 NEW: The new OBR growth forecasts for the UK 2026: 1.2% 2027: 1% 2028: 1.6% 2029: 1.8% 2030: 1.7% 2031: 1.6% #Budget

I’m sure people financing their cars, house, phones, even just their fridge will be delighted to know that their costs will increase by at least 3%… Taxing the banks will just increase the cost for those who can’t afford to pay for things outright. It will reduce investment potential.
🚨 BREAKING: John Healey has announced the tax surcharge on bank profits will rise from 3% to 6% for 15 months "This will be time limited to pay for immediate support for energy bills" #Budget

A “high earner” in Britain, according to the government, is somebody earning less than double the minimum wage.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.
