German auto giant posts multi-billion-euro loss
Volkswagen has reported a €5.8 billion quarterly loss as German industry struggles with high energy costs and global competition.
• Net loss: €5.82 billion (~$6.5 billion)
• Operating loss: €5.9 billion (widened from €1.3 billion a year earlier)
• Revenue: Fell 6.3% to ~€75.3 billion
• Vehicle deliveries: Down 14.3% year-on-year to 1.89 million (China down ~38.5%)
VW announced in September plans that could eliminate up to 100,000 jobs and leave four German factories facing closure.

The IRGC says it detected an MQM-170 reconnaissance drone over the western part of the strait, seized control of its guidance systems, and brought it down safely.
This is a very remarkable achievement, if true.
They demonstrated the downed drone. The US did not confirm the incident.
European energy giants declare record profits
As European households struggle to pay their energy bills, the oil companies more than doubled their profits over the last quarter, reaping the benefits of the US-Israeli war on Iran.

The two Nordic leaders just repeated their well known positions, basically reading their old speeches.
Putin explained them something new, which is why the call lasted 90 minutes instead of the planned 20.
While the call was a waste of time, it signalled to Mrs Leyen and Kallas that they are losing their grip. Their “wollt ihr den totale Krieg” is getting a NO from previous hawks.
Norway and Finland are neighbours of Russia and they realise that it is not Brussels, but them who will bear the brunt of the problems.
