ERITEREA WAS LANDLOCKED BY ETHIOPIA IN 1998. STOP GARBLING CURENT EVENTS IN THE HORN OF AFRICA REGION WITH DELIBERATE LIES TO SERVE GROUP INTEREST CALlING THEMSELVES “PROSPERITY” On May 13, 1998, PM Meles of #Ethiopia declared what he named as “an all out war” by labeling his political objective as: “ቀይ ባህር ግመላቸው ያጠጡብት” meaning “Let them use the Red Sea for their camels to drink”. It was through this evil program of an officially declared war campaign, well documented locally and internationally, that #Ethiopia was able to land-lock #Eritrea and deny access to its territory, both by land and by air, starting from that period until this day. This was and is a period of all out military and unilaterally conducted curtailment actions of safe, efficient, economic, viable and sustainable conduct of the movement of people, goods and mails, to and from Eritrea, Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa region which has been savagely conducted for the last 38 years now. Before 38 years or in the course of the past 38 years the base line for peace and stability was and is still hinging on the acceptance and respect of international trading code of conduct - be it across the sea, land or air. 38 years of coercive policies, practices and illegal trading practices which has dominated and evolved into a dangerous level of interest groupings in Ethiopia and the region must be halted now. Red Sea and the Horn of Africa trade Corridors deserve peace and the rule of law more than anytime now. The Entry Ports of Eritrea, be it by sea, air or land, are ready, as always, to give international service based on all duly existing and binding conventions and needed subsequent mutual agreements, including but not excluding, with #Ethiopia. መደመር In a speech delivered in Addis Abeba yesterday, PM A. Ahmed of Ethiopia after giving clarifications on his expectations of the “unfolding World War 3” in our planet and his country’s needs and requirements, as an “economic powerhouse”, during this episode of human history, was focused on gaining the control of Suez Canal, Red Sea and Indian Ocean in order for Ethiopia to play its role in the coming new world order which, he elaborated, is already on the making and shall be dictated globally as de facto world order soon. History is repeating itself in Ethiopia. This context of proxy political history has been played out by different powers, from afar and near, in the Horn of Africa, especially in Ethiopia since 1941 and the result has been always war, conflict, displacement of populations, poverty, famine and unambiguous economic underdevelopment of the Horn of Africa. Above all, currently, this is a dangerous call for escalation of the risk to the ongoing international trade and the safe, efficient, viable and sustainable maritime, air, land trade and freedom of navigation and movement currently in place based on the UN Charter and all relevant rules and regulations being practiced effectively by all nations and nation states in our planet today. The rule of law, peace and stability shall prevail in the Horn of Africa and the rest of the world. Countries of the Africa especially Egypt. Eritrea, Ethiopia Djibouti.
