Middle school egg drops taught us about basic physics. Now they’re reminding us of the joys of engineering. Thank you for coming out for the Great American Egg Drop, it was really something. And thanks to @neros_tech for the drones.

@AmcaInc is proving it's America's engineering company of the future. Amca won a first-of-its-kind @USArmy contract built around re-engineering critical parts. These parts face obsolescence, years-long lead times, and missing engineering data. Unfortunately, many of the factories that made them no longer exist. You can't sustain the Warfighter with today's subcomponent factory base. @jaimalik is putting in real work to restore our national ability to engineer and help solve Warfighter readiness.
Amca has been awarded a contract by the @USArmy, establishing an enterprise-wide partnership with Army Materiel Command for rapid engineering, qualification, and component production. This is the first partnership of its kind, designed to increase readiness for a priority missile system by re-engineering and improving manufacturability of critical components and subsystems. We're grateful for the Army’s trust, urgency, and leadership, and look forward to re-engineering American industry together.

Amca presents The Great American Egg Drop in collaboration with @neros_tech.   We are calling on LA’s finest to participate in an engineering competition in which teams will build a contraption that drops and glides an egg from Archer, a Neros drone.   The team whose egg travels the longest distance horizontally without breaking will be crowned the winner.   The competition will begin promptly at 6pm on Thursday, Oct 15 in El Segundo during #LAtechweek.   More details and RSVP link below.

America’s critical supply chain won’t be fixed by a single player. It’s a collective effort that will require co-investment and collaboration between the public and private sectors.  Our CEO, Jai Malik, joined Jeffrey Frankston (Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, Industrial Base Resilience), Andy Magliochetti (Deputy Assistant for the Defense Industrial Base, US Department of the Navy), Rolf Zeising (General Atomics), and Bryan Clark (Senior Fellow and Director, Hudson Institute) yesterday afternoon at the @HudsonInstitute, to discuss how we can come together to form a stronger, more resilient defense industrial base.  Watch the full discussion here: hudson.org/events/manufactur…

It was great to welcome @RepTedLieu to HQ last week and show him how we're rebuilding America's engineering capacity. He got a first-hand look at how we design, prototype, and test critical parts in-house to meet the demands of our defense industrial base.

Some say designing critical parts is a dark art. We just call it good engineering.

It's a miracle America designed its original jets, missiles, and ships by hand. Much of that engineering expertise hasn't been written down and lives in the supply chain.   We're creating a new way to engineer anything for these systems, trained on disappearing tribal knowledge.

Thousands of pressure switches go into our country's aircraft. Not having even one switch puts the entire mission at risk.    When a customer needed a new pressure switch re-designed on an urgent timeline, our engineer Kurt took on the challenge. He developed, built and tested it in under a month.
