1. There is no “halal replacement of food.” Halal certification of packaged food has been practised in South Africa for decades & is voluntary. All the “halal-certified” label means is that the food products meet Islamic dietary requirements. Nothing is added to the food.

Next time, can we please have a Minister of Water and Sanitation with qualifications in Environmental Health, water quality management or a related scientific field?
Someone who understands bacteria, water treatment, contamination and public health and can confidently pronounce the names of the microorganisms threatening people's lives. 😭😂
We cannot have a 60-year-old Minister with no apparent expertise in water management overseeing such a critical portfolio as if clean water is just a political slogan.
Water is life! It requires scientific knowledge, technical expertise and an understanding of what happens when treatment systems fail. 408 people fall ill in Tshwane and all we get is excuses 🚮😭
