Tax and NI receipts collected by HMRC in The UK totalled around £1.1 trillion for the last financial year. Capital investment from that sum (public sector) was roughly £157 billion or 14%. The welfare bill was around £330 billion or 30%. With the rest of our expenditure going on health, education, defence and debt interest etc. Total managed expenditure of £1.37 trillion exceeds our entire tax revenue with the gap filled by borrowing. If you can’t see the issues with the current plan then you really aren’t very bright!
