Day 1 at @afrisig is exciting. Happy to be getting further educated on internet and digital governance, Africa and global processes, AI and AI just frameworks. It is inspiring to learn alongside different stakeholders from different sectors and institutions across the continent. This knowledge will help shape our legislative engagement

Happy to be part of the @afrisig 2026 Fellows cohort. My objective at @afrisig is to continue advocating for a Green Internet Governance agenda for Africa — where every digital policy on data, e-waste, and AI has a climate lens and inclusion. My specific interest is connecting internet governance to climate justice, particularly how we govern e-waste disposal, the growing energy footprint of our data and data centers, and how we ensure Africa's digital transformation is climate-resilient and sustainable.

Surely, congratulations to @UG_Airlines for launching the new Entebbe - Accra route! This does not only promote transport and connectivity, but it brings Ghanaians and Ugandans, and the rest of Africa, closer economically and strengthens the bilateral relations between our two countries. I am proud to have been a passenger on this historic route and to have made history with a maiden smooth flight to Accra, Ghana. A great experience of true African hospitality in the skies. Well done to @UG_Airlines for connecting Africa.

As we concluded the Africa Single Digital @KTASymposium , there was a unified call for a Single Digital Market to enable deeper digital integration across the continent. The symposium closed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by five e-commerce associations from Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda and South Sudan to establish the Pan-African E-Commerce Alliance. This agreement marks a major step towards a united private sector voice for digital trade and a more connected African digital market, building on a vision for stronger e-commerce and regional integration.

Dr Fateh Boutbig, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), Rt. Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana, in Arusha, where both leaders were attending the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The Pan-African Parliament President was accompanied by Hon. Djidda Mamar Mahamat, Third Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the continental Parliament and regional parliamentary bodies such as EALA. The leaders discussed moving beyond occasional exchanges and ceremonial engagements towards a more structured relationship—one in which the work and perspectives of regional parliaments can inform the Pan-African Parliament’s deliberations and contribute to closer institutional coordination. The discussions align with the Pan-African Parliament’s mandate to promote the programmes and objectives of the African Union in Member States, and to promote the coordination and harmonisation of policies, measures, programmes and activities of Africa’s Regional Economic Communities and parliamentary fora. Both sides underscored the value of closer collaboration in advancing shared continental and regional priorities.
