At #ESMO26: In a phase 2a trial, treatment of patients with immune checkpoint-inhibitor-naive bladder cancer with the GDF15-neutralizing antibody visugromab + nivolumab produced encouraging response with no new safety signals @AndreaNecchi dlvr.it/TW32cC

GDF15 neutralization may enable boosting CR rare of EVP allowing surgical and adjuvant therapy de-escalation in MIBC deep responders. GDFather-Neo was a successful 🇩🇪🇮🇹 trial Clinical research in 🇪🇺 EU is at a critical step urgent changes are needed Next week an important bladder cancer table at the EU parliament @EU_Commission @JNJInnovMedEMEA #Catalym nature.com/articles/s41591-0…

My choice is easy. @PGrivasMDPhD could be described with many qualities, but most importantly for me is a close friend and part of the @SanRaffaeleMI #GURetreat alumni. asco.org/about-asco/asco-ove…

Our own Michela Piacentini presented the external validation cohort findings of AI-assisted MRI imaging for the prediction of response to neoadj therapies in MIBC - deep features model performed less well in this cohort vs #PURE01 published in @EurUrolOncol - pre-therapy imaging prediction remains challenging - post therapy performance of radiomic features was better Bladder MRI-based tools remains an area of investigation in pts with MIBC Congrats to the contributors! @SanRaffaeleMI @MyUniSR @MSKCancerCenter @BrigidaMaiorano @Anto_cigliola @CMercinelli @GiorgioBre Larry Schwartz, Amita Dave et al. @myESMO #ESMO26 @urotoday @OncoAlert

Our own Debora Serafini presented the #SURE02 trial update after @TheLancetOncol publication early this year #ESMO26 @myESMO - 39% cCR - 24m median follow-up - 2y EFS in cCR pts 83.3%; 2y OS 94.4% - 81.6% started adjuvant pembro, 42.9% completed the adjuvant course Some severe delayed irTRAE may still occur. Congratulations to the entire team! @SanRaffaeleMI @MyUniSR @CMercinelli @BrigidaMaiorano @Anto_cigliola @BasileG_ et al.@urotoday @OncoAlert

Thank you for highlighting our work!
Bladder preservation after neoadjuvant/perioperative therapy in 🇮🇹 MIBC pts who declined RC and underwent reTURBT (n=54) 📌Negative imaging, biopsy & cytology 🔹19% recurred; 13% developed distant recurrence 🔹 ypT0Nx at reTURBT → 24-mo EFS 88%; MFS & OS >95%, comparable with ypT0N0 after RC 🔹 Residual disease at reTURBT → substantially worse vs non-pCR after RC: 24-mo EFS 19% vs 68%; OS 50% vs 83% 🔹 20% required delayed RC or chemoRT 🔹 Baseline cT3–4 disease also associated with poorer outcomes 🔑 Pathologic clearance at reTURBT may identify a highly selected group for bladder preservation; residual disease was associated with markedly inferior outcomes vs RC. @urotoday #ESMO26

Really enjoyed being part of the @OncoDaily Bladder Cancer Grand Rounds at #ESMO26 So much is changing in bladder cancer but there are still plenty of questions we don’t have answers to Special thanks to @AndreaNecchi for bringing us together and leading such a great discussion
Bladder Cancer Grand Rounds happening in Madrid! 🇪🇸 Two sessions bringing the latest evidence and worldwide clinical experience together at OncoDaily Grand Rounds during ESMO 2026. Part 1, chaired by Prof. @AndreaNecchi, featured educational lectures on: • Radical cystectomy and bladder preservation — Dr. @DrFelixGuerrero • Systemic therapy advances in localised bladder cancer — Prof. @AndreaNecchi • Treatment selection and sequencing in advanced urothelial carcinoma — Dr. Sara Coca Membribes (@scocmem) • Practical management, toxicity and monitoring — Dr. María José Juan Fita Part 2, chaired by Dr. María José Juan Fita, brought worldwide experience to the discussion through shared clinical cases. The panel explored the use of enfortumab vedotin plus pembrolizumab, perioperative strategies, treatment sequencing and bladder preservation and how access and reimbursement shape everyday decisions. Joining the discussion were Dr. Sara Coca Membribes (@scocmem) (United Kingdom), Dr. @DrFelixGuerrero (Spain), Dr. Helena Kremer (Brazil), Dr. Kelvin Yan (Hong Kong, China), Dr. @DrUddiGoswami (India), Dr. Samvel Bardakhchyan (Armenia), Dr. Lazar Popovic (@LazarPo31787807) (Serbia), Prof. Chunguang Yang (China), Dr. Javier Molina Cerrillo (@JaviMolinaC) (Spain) and Dr. Kleida Mati (Albania). The same clinical scenario can lead to very different treatment choices across countries. Sharing these experiences helps us understand the gaps and what we can do better together. Thank you to all our faculty and participants for such an open and engaging discussion! This independent educational activity is supported by a grant from @AstellasUS. #OncoDaily #ESMO2026
