6th edition APTA Current Concepts is out!
We had the privilege of authoring the lumbar spine section.
We wrote from scratch, 64 pages, 439 references.
We hope this resource serves as a useful tool to support the clinical management of patients with low back pain.
New JOSPT case:
A patient with type II odontoid fracture was cleared to begin PT. The clinical presentation prompted PT to recommend further diagnostic studies, which revealed worsening nonunion.
Always perform independent evaluation, regardless of medical clearance.
New JOSPT case report:
During PT evaluation following prostatectomy, findings prompted further workup, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
Diligent evaluation, appropriate referral, and effective safety-netting played key roles in guiding patient management.
Honored to receive the 2026 Outstanding Fellow Award from the American Physical Therapy Association.
Grateful to the Duke orthopedic manual physical therapy fellowship faculty, whose support made this national recognition possible.
Our interdisciplinary team recently published a Masterclass on Spine-Related Leg Pain in Musculoskeletal Science and Practice.
