From Gadō ~ Junichi Akutsu Design Works (Hobby Japan, 2020) GUNDAM HEAD — Toy Design section These are the original design drawings by mecha designer Junichi Akutsu for Bandai’s Blind Box “GUNDAM HEAD” series: chest-up bust figures of Gundam mobile suits, roughly 1/100 scale. The figures feature Akutsu’s original interpretations, added internal mechanisms, symbolic parts, and weapons. The page showcases designs from the later waves: • GUNDAM HEAD III: Rick Dom (Char’s color), Zeta Gundam (Green Divers), Gabthley (Titans), Qubeley (Elpeo Ple Mk-II), Wing Gundam Zero Custom (Pearl), Freedom Gundam (Phase Shift). • GUNDAM HEAD IV: Jegan, Gundam Prototype Units 1 & 2 (alternate colors), Den’an Gei (Black Vanguard), Gundam Astray (Blue Frame + Red Frame variant), plus Galma Zabi and Shin Matsunaga Zaku II. • GUNDAM HEAD SEED DESTINY edition (≈ 5th wave): Destiny Gundam (Deactive & Pearl colors), Force Impulse Gundam, Slash ZAKU Phantom, Gunner ZAKU Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke / Live Concert version), Blaze ZAKU Phantom (Heine Westenfluss / mass-production colors). A nice look at how Akutsu translated iconic Gundam heads into collectible toy designs.
