Almost all serious crimes demonstrate a shortage or even total lack of empathy and moral appreciation. Many offenders are sociopaths.
Thank God that isn't the standard for determining culpability. Or we could almost never find anyone guilty despite the vast majority of defendants being guilty.

She retained substantial capacity to appreciate wrongfulness and conform her conduct to the law. I would find her guilty of first-degree murder.
