Added a small, but highly requested feature to Meal Mate. Being able to plan for "leftovers" for your meal planning for the week. Users can now block that out in the weekly menu screen. Small, but useful addition.

Small feature I'm weirdly proud of in Meal Mate:
Pick your meals for the week and it builds one grocery list, auto-sorted by aisle.
No more zig-zagging the store or buying your 4th backup garlic. Little stuff like this is the whole app.
Revisiting the weekly menu list on Meal Mate... but each day’s row still feels flat. Anyone got tips for leveling this layout up? Open to roasts too 😅

A user said recipe import was failing on some sites. Those sites block bots by their User-Agent. With Claude Code I added a rotation that retries as a browser, then a crawler, until one gets through.
Reported → fixed → deployed same day.
This is the part I love.

What I underestimated as a developer:
Getting strangers to find my app is a real boss fight. Different muscle entirely, and I'm learning it in public.
Devs who figured out marketing: how'd it click for you? Looking to #connect with those with success doing it.
Why I built Meal Mate:
Every week my wife and I had the same dead-end talk. "What do you want for dinner?" "I don't know,
what do you want?"
Meanwhile we had 100 recipes saved across IG and screenshots we never actually cooked.
So I built the thing that fixes both.
