In 2022, you made history by electing 2 Alliance MLAs in North Down. Since then, Connie & Andrew have been busy, from restoring our environment to championing integrated education. To keep building a shared future in North Down, vote @AndrewMuirNI & @connieegan94 next May.

The Economic Forum tomorrow matters to the people of NI. That we won't be represented at a major UK conference to support NI because of the DUP's internal wranglings is not only disgraceful, but self-defeating, self-harming and short-sighted.

I was kindly invited to sit on the panel at this event today. It was refreshing, there was positivity, there were definite defined actions and priorities, and it actually gave me some hope. If there can be cross party working on this basis we can get somewhere

People are not dirt to be cleaned away. The use of the word ‘sanitised’ is dehumanising and utterly unacceptable from an elected representative. Language matters. This deserves outright condemnation and an apology. No community should ever be spoken about this way.

Today is our 31st wedding anniversary and looking at the headlines, we could be back in the 1990s. It's all so utterly, utterly unnecessary and predictable. My thoughts are with the @PoliceServiceNI who are yet again placed in an impossible position and with their families.

People are in utter despair that this is where we are as a society this morning. Reopening the Pandora’s box of Drumcree has only caused huge hurt and has raised tensions to a level not seen in years. We cannot relive the past. We must be capable of learning from it and finding a way to move forward together. Our utmost priority must be the safety of all concerned. I am again appealing for calm, restraint and cool heads on all sides.

Where do we want our community to go? Forward, together, preserving the progress we have made and building a better, brighter, shared future. Or backwards, divided, reliving our darkest moments whilst learning nothing from them. Grasp this chance to choose peace and progress.

Stephen Walker was yesterday given an exceptional send-off by his wife and remarkable children, who did him proud. I've never attended a funeral where there were so many laughs amid the inevitable sadness. Stephen epitomised so much of the best of Northern Ireland.

Stephen Walker was not just a superb journalist and author but, most importantly, a man devoted to his family who will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues following this immensely sad news that Stephen has passed away. It was always a real privilege to be in his company, a kind and generous professional who excelled in his career always able to use a bit of wit to bring levity when needed. Rest in peace Stephen. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c33k…

Good chat with new SoS, @RhonddaBryant, this evening. Very much looking forward to working with him and taking forward the discussions on reform of our structures and finances started by his predecessor @hilarybennmp, to whom we are very grateful.

The placement of a replica mosque atop a bonfire is grossly offensive… Christians of all traditions would be aghast at the wanton destruction of Christian imagery.  Likewise, we should be appalled at the provocative denigration of symbols associated with faiths sincerely held by others.  Statement here: ⬇️ catholicbishops.ie/2026/07/0……

Putting a mosque on top of a bonfire isn't celebrating culture; it's denigrating others' beliefs. It's a sickening act of hatred. You cannot demand others respect you, if you don't respect others or yourself. We must must all stand united against hatred.
