CRYSTAL LAKE Review - [A] blood-soaked love letter to the genre. ★★★★ @The_Upcoming

TENZING Review (2026) - Despite a strong cast and incredible visuals, the script plays everything far too safely, only ever hinting at underlying themes of colonisation and prejudice. ★★★ @The_Upcoming

CLAYFACE (2026) Review - [L]ike its eponymous character, this feature struggles to hold onto its identity as it morphs between a homage to the gooey melt movies of the 80s and a contrived revenge film. ★★★ @The_Upcoming

CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS 2 Review - Director Kai Ikarashi and lead character designer Kanno Ichigo bring the fully realised setting of Night City back to the screen with an astonishing level of detail and style. ★★★★ @The_Upcoming

THE TRAP Review - The result is a familiar but nevertheless compelling slow-burn thriller where everything isn’t as it seems. ★★★ @The_Upcoming

OTHER MOMMY Review - Other Mommy has the bones of a heartfelt domestic horror. However, this adaptation is more concerned with delivering formulaic frights than telling an intimate family drama. ★★ @The_Upcoming

BELOW Review - The best way to enjoy Below is to completely suspend disbelief and go along for the ride, trusting that the cast will keep viewers in safe hands. ★★★ @The_Upcoming

APRIL X (2026) Review - Unfortunately, despite Storrie’s best attempts to give a convincing performance, this sci-fi flick is clunky, disjointed and doesn’t have anything interesting to say. ★★ @The_Upcoming

KIKUYU LAND (2026) Review - Journalist Bea Wangondu explores the horrors of tea plantations in the sombre but somewhat scattered documentary Kikuyu Land ★★★ @The_Upcoming

JUST PLAY DEAD Review - Despite a charismatic turn from Jackson, this deadly cat-and-mouse affair from Casino Royale director Martin Campbell isn’t funny enough to work as a comedy and is too convoluted to generate satisfying thrills. ★★ @The_Upcoming

THE LAST FIRST: WINTER K2 Review - The Last First is unlike most mountaineering films. ★★★★ @The_Upcoming

AMERICCAN HORROR STORY 13 Review - There’s no doubt that 13 was made with superfans in mind. Not only is it thrilling to see Lange take centre stage, but this season shows signs of being a return to form for the horror anthology. ★★★ @The_Upcoming

WONKA'S THE GOLDEN TICKET Review - Despite some creative practical effects, this reality game show is formulaic and artificial, the opposite of what Wonka’s factory should be. ★★ @The_Upcoming
