🎣 FLY OF THE DAY: DOLLY LLAMA (A favorite for Alaska!)
The Dolly Llama is a big, articulated streamer built to move water and get down fast.
Born from a mix of the Double Bunny and conehead string leech, its heavy cone and rabbit-strip body give it tons of movement in the water.
Swing it, strip it, or dead drift it for aggressive trout and other predatory fish.
When they want meat, give them the Llama.

Tomorrow night, 6–8 p.m. at @AnglersDenUtah Community Fly Tying Night. All are welcome. We have extra vises and materials, so bring a friend.
I found an old Field & Stream magazine and looked for the “Tap’s Tips” I always read as a kid…
Sometimes a fly line will float better if it is cleaned, instead of dressed with floatant. Dressing collects dirt, which can sink the line. Modern top-water lines will float almost indefinitely if the finish is not damaged. If the line must be dressed, wipe off surplus with tissue
Fly of the Day: Tailwater Sowbug – Rainbow
Weber River Favorite!
Designed by Lance Egan, the Tailwater Sowbug is a simple, deadly imitation of the sowbugs trout feed on year-round. The Rainbow version adds extra attraction while its weighted body gets down fast.
Dead drift it tight to the bottom under an indicator or on a Euro rig.

Fly of the Day: Duracell Bomb
Born from Scottish competition angler Craig McDonald’s Duracell, named for its battery-like colors. Umpqua’s Bomb version adds a tungsten bead, flashy Ice Dub, red trigger wire and CDC collar for a fast-sinking, high-confidence searching nymph.
Fly of the Day: Umpqua Goat Leech
The Goat Leech is built with Angora goat hair, giving it a loose, translucent body that breathes & moves naturally in the water.
It’s especially effective as a stillwater searching pattern for trout. Fish it slow & let the material do the work – at Riverdale, UT
