Specialist on @Codeforces and Knight on @LeetCode have been reduced to child's play. Remove the AI, and any decent competitive programmer will show you how to catch Pokémon (offers). Nowadays every CS grad is a Specialist or Knight, and we all know how. People don't realise the value of competitive programming skills because of AI. There was a time when being a Specialist meant you'd surely get into an MNC.

I think most startup guys can't solve DSA problems and then say a startup is better. Since the pay is much better at an MNC, the work-life balance is also better and you have better job security. You can learn anything you want since you have free time, rather than being restricted to the startup's requirements. Why choose a startup? Is there any better reason?
Let's settle the biggest debate boys and girls: Startups vs MNCs My personal preference is a startup. As you can learn many things, job flexibility and crazy growth curve.

In the LLM era, only fools build portfolio websites. Recruiters won't look at your portfolio before hiring. Every candidate has a different style, which makes it irritating for recruiters who have to go through so many of them. @LinkedIn is the best standardized portfolio for everyone. I always prefer @LinkedIn over a personal portfolio. Portfolios were just for beginners, to help them learn frontend. I was one of those fools too, until a few weeks ago when I realized this.
My portfolio is finally live: parascodes.is-a.dev/ Would love to hear your feedback!!! 🤝 #SoftwareEngineering #Portfolio #BuildInPublic

Kabhi kabhi life me sab kuch hota hai, jiske liye hustle kiye, jiske liye sacrifice kiye.. Phir bhi kuch cheezein hoti hain jo sabse zyada important hoti hain, aur humein pata hi nahi chalta.. Jab wo nahi milti, toh sab kuch hone ke baad bhi andar se khaali khaali sa lagta hai...

I went from 2 pull-ups to 10 pull-ups in just 2 months during my @Google internship, thanks to a healthy diet. Students who stress about building a physique in college are fools. A healthy body is much easier to build once you're earning well. B.Tech students usually live in hostels, where eating well is hard. Now I'm waiting for my next internship so I can go from pull-ups to muscle-ups.

No matter how many open source contributions you have, no one values you if you don't clear GSoC or LFX. Open source contributions have no inherent value anymore because of AI.
If you seriously contribute to open source for a year or two in college, getting referrals becomes a lot easier You work with experienced mentors and devs. and making new connections gets easier with your work People are much more comfortable referring someone they’ve actually worked with or whose work they've seen

IIT JEE provides many students, who cannot afford the high fees of expensive private colleges, with the opportunity to experience a vibrant college life.
The only thing JEE is good at is snatching youth away from teenagers

I got into Google Summer of Code with the @omegaUp and @owasp, interned at @Google Sheets. If you want to start your open source journey, check out the thread below @mr_raj_earth and I wrote this post to help beginners get into open source.

This isn't an anti-AI argument. I use it every day to ship faster. It's an argument about what made open source quietly valuable in the first place: not just the code, but the engineers it shaped along the way.

If you're starting out: sit with the codebase yourself before letting AI read it for you. Pick the smallest service. Read it end-to-end. Suffer through not-understanding for a week. The discomfort is the curriculum.
