My son started coming home late every night.
At first, I assumed he was just wasting time with his friends.
He'd text, “On my way.”
Then I'd hear the front door at 10:47.
Then 11:12.
Then almost midnight.
I kept asking where he'd been.
“Just out.”
After a while, I stopped asking.
Then I noticed something strange.
Every night he came home late, he went straight to the kitchen.
He'd open the refrigerator, take something out, and put it in his backpack.
