Russia’s e-commerce giant Ozon has disclosed $374 million in losses after fires struck 11 of its logistics facilities since August.
That’s $374 million in destroyed inventory, damaged equipment and associated costs, with insurance compensation potentially falling short of the total.
These aren’t military bases or weapons factories. They’re commercial distribution centres that keep products moving between sellers, warehouses and customers.
Every disrupted facility means lost merchandise, delayed deliveries, interrupted business operations and expensive repairs.
And the financial consequences continue long after the flames are extinguished.
Moscow has spent years attacking Ukraine’s infrastructure. Now the economic damage associated with the war is increasingly reaching Russia’s own commercial networks.
Eleven facilities. $374 million.
Putin’s invasion is producing bills far beyond the battlefield.

A few days ago they saw a house fully engulfed in flames with people still inside so they kicked in the front door and risked their own lives to save the occupants inside.
