This Frank Gehry-designed performing arts centre is under construction in Abu Dhabi. Designed by Gehry before his death, Dar al Funoon is being built on Saadiyat Island for Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism.
The complex will include a multipurpose theatre with more than 2,000 seats, a 3,500-seat open-air amphitheater, a 400-seat studio theatre and a 250-seat jazz venue, providing a combined capacity of more than 6,000.
Works are expected to complete in 2030.
The building will join a number of other notable structures both existing and currently under construction in the area, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, also designed by Gehry.
