The project is based on an understanding of the equatorial climate and the integral preservation of the site, establishing a continuous dialogue between architecture, ventilation, and landscape. The innovative minds behind architect-favorites V-Ray, Corona and Enscape know all too well that while creating photorealistic images with prompts and single-button pushes rapidly becomes standard practice, story has become the differentiator between a good image and an outstanding one. And saying everything you need to within a single frame is incredibly difficult. With no sequence to build across and often no words to lean on, it takes immense skill to distill meaning into the confined borders of a static snapshot — and that’s exactly what the judges of Architizers Vision Awards expect of their entrants. With Chaos joining this year’s awards season as a supporting partner, Architizer spoke to six winners and finalists from last year’s competition, each of whom built their image using Chaos software in one way or another, to hear how they expressed such a strong narrative through a single moment. 👉 Continue reading: hubs.la/Q04zRCzv0 ✍️ Sam Frew

In the Great Plains of Saskatchewan, Canada, the Muscowpetung Saulteaux First Nations people are celebrating a major milestone on their reservation: The opening of a permanent powwow arbor last year will not only strengthen the tribe’s traditions but also encourage community members to pass cultural knowledge to future generations. The project, designed by Oxbow Architecture in collaboration with Dalhousie University professor emeritus Richard Kroeker, provides a much-needed center for the tribe’s annual summer powwow celebrations while supporting the reservation’s economy. Plenty of firms enter a genuinely good project in awards programs and lose. Such losses, however, don’t necessarily reflect the quality of the design itself. Sometimes, they’re more indicative of an error in the architectural awards entry — a misreading of what makes the project exceptional, and therefore, what it should be rewarded on. 👉 Continue reading: hubs.la/Q04zRCtN0
