Played my first game of 11th yesterday! 1000 points Deathwatch vs Alpha Legion, was a more casual affair to get used to the phases and changes but went for it anyway. Ended up losing closely by 7 points and we ended up both nearly wiped out.
Highlights was watching my squad of lightning claw terminators get ripped a new one by a squad of Chosen with a character, the Corvus Blackstar rinsing two squads of legionnaires and though it doesnt have any OC, being a generally well armoured nuisance, but the MVP was the Redemptor; took out a Predator as well as a Contemptor dreadnought.
Will keep playing and modifying bits as it was rough losing so much to legends, and if the DW codex comes sooner rather than later, I may pivot to playing them casual only and doing some nutty stuff instead 🤟
Tomorrow marks the 34th rotation around the sun and its been an eventful time at that.
This year has gone very poorly, things didnt pan out the way I hoped they'd go and its been a bit of a rough one.
That being said; its been a good few weeks recently, though I watched half my army go to legends, the boys were there and it only brought me back to say fuck gw its our hobby.

The same reason why “dark romance” is different from smut is the same distinction for why softcore pornography is different from its hardcore variant. Superficiality. Both are meant to inspire its viewers towards a lustful end.
What I think is that you’ve made a category error. The point of the character as interpreted by the original designer of it and the majority of those who participate in it is to inspire as sense of yearning among straight men. Yearning towards what end? Love.
The expression of heterosexual male love towards a woman who is in love with him. The impetus that drives a man to kneel before a woman and ask for her hand in marriage which I’m hoping you can tell is an entirely different motivation than say, the impetus that drives men to pay a prostitute for sex.
I hope that I don’t need to outline the entirely of heterosexual male romantic attraction to women for you to grasp the distinction being made? I don’t have to outright state for example that this attraction is a mix of both physical and emotional appeal that neither is nor needs to be exclusive for it to be distinct from base lust, right?
No one is contending that it isn’t fanfiction, but you insisting that the driving force behind it is pornographic appeal primarily is strange considering what exactly has been expressed by the vast majority of lonely young men in a world where pornographic material is quite literally a whim away for them all.

Went with a WoW inspired pre corruption skin tone I saw on a youtube short instead of the usual green, hence the orange tinge, and also had a go with contrast paints to "speed things up", to which I learned they have their own tips and tricks and its not as simple as wack on and go.
Also batch painting 20 models in a row was fatiguing BUT, I now have 20 NPOs for Kill team so all's well ends well 🫡
