ALT Fang & Friends giclée art print This pictures Fang, a snaggletoothed tuxedo cat at home with a couple of loyal, yet creepy friends (or should I say ‘fiends’?). A claw-toothed raven is perched on Fang’s wingbacked chair whilst a fanged rat is stationed on the carpet. A dead plant resides in a vase to the right. A full moon shines through the gothic window. This particular moon however, is a giant grinning pumpkin! It’s all quite eerie, yet in a sinisterly gleeful way, suitable for year-round viewing. Drawn in dip pen & ink with a symphony of blue & orange watercolour washes.

ALT “Stopping By for a Rest and a Visit” giclée art print The crescent moon takes a break from its celestial journeys to rest in the arms of an accommodating tree. Whilst taking a rest it visits with a favourite earthling: a cat. The cat sits at the base of the tree in a pool of moonlight and stares up at his friend.

ALT “The Yearning for Adventure” giclée art print Hark! What was that?! Our feline friend has heard mysterious noises emanating from out in the garden. Were the sounds an ‘it’ or a ‘them’? She thinks she sees shadowy shapes dart across the lawn and slither through the shrubbery. The poor cat is trapped indoors. All she wants is to leap through that window into a moonlit landscape of wild curiosity filled with unknown and unseen excitements - and perhaps an exploit or two of good old mischief.

ALT “The Usual Suspects” giclée art print Here we have four mysterious, furtive and highly suspicious-looking black cats with glowing eyes, sitting together on a park bench, late at night, under the light from a lamppost. Are they plotting something nefarious - or just mischievous? Or, has the deed already been done? Or are they just four good friends gathered together to enjoy each other's company, who happen to look guilty?

ALT “A Singular Sense of Style” giclée art print What we have here is an extremely posh, well-attired Grackle-About-Town sauntering nonchalantly along top a stone wall, past a much surprised, amazed and bewildered black alley cat. The cat doesn’t have the foggiest notion what to make of this situation. The hand-lettered text below sums up the cat's predicament. This humorous drawing is rendered in dip pen & ink using a crosshatching technique. Text of hand-lettered caption appearing at bottom of image: “The question arose: whether to eat him, or simply to admire his singular sense of style.”

ALT Two kitties are sitting snuggled up to each other on a bench in an old Victorian park at night. They are clearly in love. Their first meeting was just in passing as they made their nightly rounds in the gardens. As the nights progressed so did their interest in each other. Curiosity led to friendship, friendship led to affection, and love slowly blossomed. They’re now inseparable and make the rounds together. This is their favourite spot, watched over by curious crows.

ALT “Shniff!” It’s spring going into summer and our orange tabby friend is inhaling the scent of overhanging blooms. He’s shniffing the fragrance in deeply to the tip of his tail! He’s standing on a stone wall with front legs perched on the edge of a red folding chair next to a round table with a tea service and a vase of flowers set upon it. The setting is a small, cosy backyard with the kitchen window swung wide open in the background. This piece is rendered loosely in pen & ink with watercolour wash.

ALT “The Yearning for Adventure” Available as an original ink drawing and as a giclée art print Hark! What was that?! Our feline friend has heard mysterious noises emanating from out in the garden. ALT “3 AM” giclée art print It’s 3 AM in suburbia and someone is still awake. A silhouetted cat sits on a windowsill behind open blinds peering out at a mysterious nighttime world. This is her favourite post in the house. From here she can look out over the expansive lawn and clipped hedges. Her humans have long since gone to bed. There is streetlight shinning on the house, hedges and lawn. She’s hoping to see something - anything - move about in the shadows. She listens intently for any rustle in the leaves, snap of a twig, or scampering over the grass. For now, all is silent except for the faint rush of a passing car. The night belongs to her. I've drawn this in ballpoint pen in a very fine, wispy cross-hatching style trying to achieve that vague, mysterious tonality seen at that hour. I take a lot of walks late at night, and this is a home l've passed several times, complete with the lit window. I always imagine a cat sitting there, and the beauty is that I can make it so.

ALT “Allée of the Ancients” *giclée art print This is a fanciful scene of a small cat looking up at tall, weathered, vine-covered statues of his ancient ancestors in a winding, dark alley of overgrown trees and hedges. It is an atmospheric, mysterious, yet whimsical scene. The idea for this piece came when, on one of my walks, I spied a cat sitting in a garden, looking up an old wooden pedestal at a large, weather-worn ceramic cat perched on top. I had just received my DNA results from Ancestry.com a couple days prior. The two things instantly blended together in my mind. This piece was rendered with dip pen and ink and Paynes Grey watercolour.
