My third book, Red Dwarfs Make The Best Homes, is an essay and sci-fi anthology about space colonisation and the Kardashev scale, and the fiction section contains great contributions from @jdiannedotson, @AshOldfield, @melissajferg, @bearsbeetspoet and others.

*whispers* There's a man here in the pub I'm in that is basically just one of my characters walking off the page and I don't know how to not stare at him. #writerproblems

I'm back in research mode for my writing, reading obscure fairy tales that had belonged to my grandmother when she was a girl. It's really interesting to see the popular fairy tales back then compared with now.

Interviewer: Under special skills you listed β€œthorough knowledge of music, singing, drawing, dancing, and the modern languages. Also, something in my air and manner of walking, the tone of my voice, my address.” Me: I also read… extensively. Interviewer: Please leave.

My friend sent me the most naive message today: "Help I need book recommendations for my son!" She was NOT ready for that conversation πŸ˜‚ (But I have a bunch of books I'm sending her way)

Anyone else's parents send them the thumbs up when you reply to the message they sent you in the first place???

I've booked accommodation for Supanova, I have copies of my books ready to go, I have a shiny new banner...now to wait 2 months until the event. Can you tell I'm eager to get back out there to chat with readers?

Kate Winslet is an icon, but she’ll never top her line delivery of, β€œI do not attempt to deny that I think very highly of him. That I greatly esteem him. That I like him.”

I love writing first drafts. I was just stuck on how to word the scene so I just wrote a basic summary of what happens in it. It's future Ash's problem now!

The real challenge of my son being in pre-school presented itself today. "Mummy, why does *Jay get to have lots of Oreos with his lunch when you only ever give me one oreo?" *Names have been changed

You know it’s about to get bleak in a period film when the servants pull out white sheets to cover all the furniture.

So my KU reads for The Rachaya Series have dried up to zero page reads and I just earned 8 cents in royalties - it turns out I have unenrolled the books from KU for some reason and forgot to re-enroll them πŸ˜‚ Technology and I are not friends!

I am so honoured to have a short story included in Seth Lukas Hynes' latest book, Red Dwarfs Make The Best Homes. The ebook has just been released, check out the link in my bio! My story, The Wellerguard, is rather dark and I have to say, I'm very proud of it ☺️
My new book, Red Dwarfs Make The Best Homes, is now out! Red Dwarfs Make The Best Homes is a diverse, collaborative collection of essays and science fiction about space colonisation and the Kardashev scale. Find it at my Big Cartel store: sethhyneswriter.bigcartel.co…
