This is Ravindra Singh Negi, BJP MLA from Patparganj. Has he seen the video of Ankita’s parents? He most probably has. But instead of speaking about their struggle, he seems more outraged about the colour of clothes Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone will wear in their upcoming film King. Somewhere along the way, in our pursuit of individual success, we have drifted so far from our roots that we have forgotten how to stand up for our collective causes. Whether it is fighting for justice for one of our sisters and daughters or standing up for our rights as citizens, we seem to have lost that sense of togetherness. We have worked hard to build individual lives away from our hills, but what is the point of all that progress if we cannot stand together when it matters most? #JusticeForAnkitaBhandari

Uttarakhand has 5 Lok Sabha MPs and 3 Rajya Sabha MPs. Around 20–25 lakh people from our state live in Delhi-NCR. Yet, we cannot come together and stand with Ankita’s parents in their fight for justice. This is not just the government’s failure. It is a failure of our collective conscience too. We need to ask ourselves what is stopping us from standing together for our own people. #JusticeForAnkitaBhandari
