Like as the Whovians proclaim their first Doctor was "their" Doctor, Picard was *my* captain.
I was around for Kirk, but I didn't fully get into Trek until TNG. There was something comforting about each week, cozying up on the couch with my family and watching Star Trek.

I grew up on TNG. My first costume was a TNG uniform that my mother sewed for me from the Simplicity catalog. My first VCR recording was the 2 hour TNG pilot "Encounter at Farpoint". And my first Trek action figures were Picard and Riker. My first ship toy was the 1701-D.

AstroAlligator, one of our longer-tenured Captains, gave us this cool bit of history this week. This is a screenshot of his Captain standing in front of the Guardian of Forever both 16 years ago, and again on launch day this week. What a cool look back - thanks Astro!
Figured I'd do a quick write-up for the new @trekonlinegame episode...

So... if anyone wants to gift ol' Astro over here a Mudd Bundle (Masters of Science) or the 16th Anniversary bundle, I'd be awfully grateful.
I'd make you a video in Blender of the Oberth blowing up or something.
