On this Oct 7th it's important to remember some of the minimum fundamental cornerstones in life
- Stay informed. Locally, Regionally, Globally
- Research. Don't just trust what you read or just one source
- Context. Really understand why
And above all else:
Fuck ๐ฎ๐ฑ

Oh, spoke too soon #GameDev we have some more requirements on what we can and can't do when making games. Add it to the list!

History didnโt begin on October 7!
Years of crimes. Years of plunder. Years of captivity.
All done by Israel.
Operation Al Aqsa Flood brought the dream of Palestine back to life,
and exposed you to the world for what you are...

If you willingly connect agents to your personal financial accounts, you deserve everything that happens to you
๐ฆMeta's new AI agent, Muse, asks people to connect their email and bank accounts so it can shop, book travel and pay bills for them. 404 Media reports Meta engineers rushed to patch a flaw two weeks before launch that could have let an ordinary Muse user reach into Meta's internal databases, and some senior engineers still expect a major breach.
My Take
I wouldn't link a bank account to any AI agent right now, Meta's or anybody else's. Muse launched in September and this is at least its third security story. Two developers got it to hand over its own file system, and The Information reported a separate bug that could have exposed a user's emails and files. Meta says the file export wasn't a breach and that it fixed the bug.
Meta expects to spend as much as $145 billion on AI this year, and investors want to see it pay off. An agent with your card on file makes money every time it books a flight, so I understand the hurry. But every AI model makes mistakes you can't predict, and anyone who slips the right instructions into an email or webpage can talk it into things. Put that together with access to your checking account and one bad day gets expensive fast. Muse got about 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks. If you already connected your bank, I'd reconsider that decision...

Game Devs, we finally have some definitions to "save" games!
"Diversity" is just beautiful women & people having to hide their true identity for fear of repercussions
While "Woke" is people having freedom to be who they want to be and those who look like actual, real people

Worked at an MSP for 9 years. Was involved in a rollout of a new task system which required you to enter the amount of time on every task in the day. You had to fill 8 hours of "work" a day or got questioned why.
Management never logged anything whatsoever
HR bought employee-monitoring software without telling IT.
Screenshots.
Active time.
Idle time.
โProductivity scores.โ
Then they asked me to deploy it company-wide.
I said we should pilot it first.
HR agreed.
So I installed it on HR.
By lunchtime the HR directorโs productivity score was 41%.
She called me immediately.
โThis is wrong. Iโve been working all morning.โ
The software showed 2 hours and 17 minutes of inactivity.
โI was interviewing candidates.โ
The laptop was idle.
โI was in meetings.โ
The laptop was idle.
โI took a phone call with Legal.โ
The laptop was idle.
She said the system needed to understand that work can happen away from the keyboard.
I agreed.
Then I asked how it was going to understand that for the 700 employees she wanted to measure.
Silence.
At 3:40 PM HR emailed me:
โPlease pause rollout while we reassess whether activity metrics accurately reflect employee contribution.โ
Pilot lasted six hours.
Turns out workplace surveillance becomes nuanced the moment the dashboard starts describing management.

I wish AI could do something truly useful, like digging everything out of landfills and breaking it down to the elements for recycling. Imagine if it deconstructed trash into pure carbon, iron, hydrogen, etc.
Instead, itโs running disinformation ops on Twitter to elect fascists.

Itโs really funny that simply asking โwhat a normal person would want to use AI for (you canโt say making an app)?โ completely broke tech twitter, revealing every single one of them is an unsocialized grade-A freakazoid completely unmoored from anything even resembling humanity.
My @SteelSeries Arctic Pro Wireless are entering their 7th year of use.
Have had to replace the ear cups and the elastic band is over stretched so I had to tie a knot ๐ Batteries still going well after several days of wearing them continuously each day.
Hard to beat them tbh

Use over ears for pc lmao.
My gaming headphones lasted me 18 months each on average.
The beyerdynamics I have are timeless. 6th year of usage, bought new ear pads for cheap and some 3d printed replacement screw holders and they're as good as new.

Chris here believes the most appropriate place for all of his rubbish left over from breakfast on the train is not in the easily accessible bins but simply thrown under his seat
Chris also likes to have sensitive company data up on his laptop while he endlessly scrolls his phone
Techbros not realising that "social-obligations" are completely voluntary. If you don't enjoy it, you don't have to take part.
Instead they'll automate it and fake their involvement rather than actually have a conversation
Replying to @nic_carter
"but you've automated your hobby"
no, fantasy football is not my hobby. it's more of a social obligation.
my actual hobbies are gainful and awesome and mostly involve being outside. not fixating on team news and sportsball RNG. i have more time to do them because I use AI for all the boring stuff in my life.

AI is widespread because it gives uncreative people the delusion that theyโre creative. It lets them skip straight to the part where they get validation for doing absolutely nothing. Itโs not just rotting their brains, itโs also making them narcissistic.
