It's like a dream, having so many apples that we have enough for applesauce, pie, cider & everything else we want to make. A dream that started years ago when we planned the orchards & planted tiny bare root trees. #harvesttime #homesteaddreams #growyourownfood

On April 25, 1976, during a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, two protestors ran onto the field and tried burning an American flag. Cubs center fielder Rick Monday quickly ran over and grabbed the flag to save it before the protestors could light it on fire. His quick action was met with a standing ovation from the crowd. When asked later about the incident, Monday said: "If you're going to burn the flag, don't do it around me. I've been to too many veterans' hospitals and seen too many broken bodies of guys who tried to protect it." Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

The mulberries are starting to ripen. Time for jam? commonsensehome.com/mulberry… You can leave the stems on for jam making, as they cook down and blend in, but if you want to remove them, we include tips to do that quickly, too.
