Our goal is to find an “entry point to the exit” from these protracted conflicts. There is no easy fix: we are ready to explore new diplomatic approaches and thus contribute to restoring stability & freedom of navigation. 2/3
Also in the #BlackSea, where Russia’s attacks on grain shipments threaten food security, we are determined to explore ways to help ensure grain reaches those in need. Today’s meeting was a good start - I look forward to hosting our partners in 🇩🇪 to continue this dialogue. 3/3

Black Sea security is European security. Grateful to the solidarity expressed by Germany regarding the recent attacks on trade ships in our exclusive economic area. Bulgaria is committed to working towards a ceasefire for merchant shipping in the Black Sea together with our partners.
Stronger and more resilient Europe is a shared goal. Germany’s economic and industrial strength makes it an important partner in this mission. To achieve this we need better diversification of supplies. In spring 2027, Bulgaria hosts the Regional Connectivity Summit focused on the Middle Corridor and links to the Gulf. This is a key step in building our economic leverage.
🇧🇬🇩🇪 Bulgaria and Germany are strategic partners, with considerable potential to deepen cooperation in research, digital innovation and defence. Several major projects are already underway and we must keep the momentum.
The Black Sea must not become a warzone. Attacks on civilian ships in Bulgaria’s waters and elsewhere are unacceptable. 🇧🇬 can count on 🇩🇪’s solidarity as we work to protect our shared security. Thank you, @vpetrova_mfa, for your visit & for the friendship between our countries.
#Armenia 🇦🇲 can rely on Germany 🇩🇪 as it strengthens its ties with the #EU🇪🇺. I agree with @AraratMirzoyan, at #WSF2026: progress towards peace with #Azerbaijan & the swift opening of the border with #Türkiye are key to regional stability.

It was a pleasure to meet Prime Minister @JJansaSDS during my visit to #Slovenia. Germany & Slovenia are trusted #EU partners - we appreciate Slovenia‘s role as a bridge between Central & Southeastern Europe - and our deep economic ties, e.g. in the automotive industry.
Yesterday we met in #Montenegro, today you hosted me in #Slovenia 🇸🇮 - thank you for the friendly exchange and coordination, dear @TKajzer: the #EU enlargement on the Western Balkans is our joint priority, just as the promotion of competitive European industries.
Grateful for your commitment to put an end to Russia‘s war against #Ukraine, dear Archbishop Gallagher. The Holy See has condemned Russia‘s war. Your voice carries weight, especially in the Global South, where Russia recruits its soldiers. We agreed: Russia has to negotiate now.
I was honoured to meet the Holy See’s Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, today. Germany is grateful for the Catholic Church’s work for peace, humanity, and compassion, which is more important than ever. We agreed that #AI has to be
