Remember, a hack or, an outage, can happen to anyone. Schadenfreude is an invitation to visit destruction upon yourself.

I would also add this is one of the best-capitalized entities in crypto. For those long-term oriented, market volatility on the fear index should be seen as an opportunity.

This is actually incredibly bullish for Google. For the first time, they need to work hard to build new business lines, not just new products. They have lots of smart people who work there, but a weak culture. If they can fix this, Google will be on (another) generational run
For the first time EVER, $GOOGL Search as a % of revenue is now below 50%.

DoubleZero Edge for Builders is now on testnet. Edge for Builders is a permissionless way for third parties to publish their own real-time data feeds on DoubleZero Edge, reach their subscribers, and charge their own customers. It gives them the send-once delivery model traditional exchanges use for market data, on the DoubleZero network, without operating distribution infrastructure of their own. How it works: The publisher sends each update once, and DoubleZero's dedicated network links deliver it to every subscriber. Served over WebSockets and cloud APIs, every new subscriber is another copy for the publisher to send. Builders create their own feeds and publishers through the builder API, and sign every action with their own key. Existing Edge subscribers can add builder feeds on the connection they already have. Edge for Builders was announced at TOKEN2049. This is the earliest access, open now to ambitious teams distributing real-time data to many subscribers: exchanges and venues, data aggregators, pricing providers, and any project serving real-time data over WebSockets or cloud APIs. Memecoins might be closer to concert tickets than investments. DoubleZero co-founder Austin Federa says it's a mistake to treat crypto entertainment like an asset class "Oftentimes, we look at things that are entertainment products as financial products in crypto. NFTs were not really a financial product. I'm not sure memecoins are ever really a financial product." "No one's particularly mad that people are spending $600 to go see a band and then they're spending $48 on a beer, because it's entertainment. We don't consider it an investment class." "The problem was when people started conflating memecoins, which were effectively people having fun onchain and getting some dopamine from numbers moving around on the screen, with an actual financial asset class." "Obviously, you really should not invest in memecoins. But if you think this is fun and you want to play around with it, great. I have no problem with that."

Dollarization (and therefor westernization) is no longer driven by the federal reserve It's driven by US dollar stablecoins
Crypto is doing the opposite of what maxis wanted: spreading the dollar. DoubleZero co-founder Austin Federa says stablecoins has become one of the best things for US national security to come out of finance in 30 years "Should we, as crypto people, be sad about how integrated the markets have gotten? And how much crypto is now just finance?" "A lot of the people who are like, the US dollar is bad, we should have Bitcoin be the national reserve currency, genuinely did not understand anything about how nation state economies work." "I think that crypto has been one of the best things for US national security to come out of the financial industry in 30 years." "It's because we have dollarization continuing to expand internationally, at a time when the US has more currencies pushing back against it than it's had in our lifetime." "Bitcoin in general, you want it paired with the strongest fiat currency, which is the US dollar." "Even if you are a Bitcoin maxi who thinks Bitcoin is the only currency you should be holding, you should be really happy that more of the traditional US dollar denominated financial sector is participating in Bitcoin."

With AI agents, the trading app you use will not matter anymore. DoubleZero co-founder Austin Federa says agents will route trades to the best price, making "everything app" exchanges less relevant "The UI's not going to matter in 6 months. The same way that none of us really interface with, like, Anthropic's UI. We go in through a terminal or a little web app on the computer." "What we're really dealing with is the death of the UI, because the agents are going to be able to navigate these systems. Do I really care if I'm trading on Interactive Brokers or Robinhood? I just care about getting the best price I can and the best execution I can." "That's the threat that Amazon faces right now. The everything store is not particularly useful if your agent is your interface to the everything store. And so the everything house of finance, it's an existential problem for anyone like that."

AI won't make you Jane Street overnight. But it's closing the gap fast. DoubleZero co-founder Austin Federa on how AI-built programs, faster data and affordable servers are lowering the barriers for retail traders "AI inference is still too slow to really trade on. But you can have AI build you a trading program. Then you can hook that up to DoubleZero data." "You're not Jane Street overnight, but you are closing the gap tremendously between click trading on a UI and what a market making firm is doing." "Go back 5 years ago, and if you had an alpha trade and you didn't work at a big firm, good luck actually executing that trade. The execution and the data access was such a barrier. That's coming down very quickly." "AI can build the program for you. DoubleZero can get you the data. Through projects like the Hub, you can get a bare metal server located in NY4 at a pretty reasonable price." "It's not exactly the same as being co-located with Nasdaq, but it's much better than having your agent trade through Robinhood. So the access barrier is getting very low very quickly."

Elysium is bringing its infrastructure to Tokyo, and builders in its ecosystem can now deploy alongside it. At TheHUB, we're offering preferred terms for @Enter_Elysium builders who want to deploy alongside the project. No hardware purchase is required; teams can bring their own servers or use bare metal and on-prem cloud providers already operating inside TheHUB. If you’re building on Elysium, join us on this odyssey.
