I just talked to my son & he said Britt totally lost control of her behaviors in the casino aboard the Disney cruise. She even went after her father & brother (bro on a foot he broke yesterday/boot/crutches.) He tried to use the crutch to keep her away from support, so britt went after bro. Then dad. I’m crushed. She’s been acting like this for weeks now, frantic and confused. Very concerning. I guess we’re back to baseline…again. #AutismAwareness
Today Britt & the gang are at an island resort. They get a room so they can use the famous pool on the island. Britt’s already did the lazy river 3x. She always goes on the water slide (annual tradition). They wrap up island day by taking a bike ride. Britt rides a 2 wheel bike. I think (hope) she’s behaving. This is my grandson’s 1st Disney cruise (he’s 1yo). A lot of new activities, he’s taking it all in.
I’m trying to get an update from #DisneyCruise, but nobody is answering my texts. I’m hoping Britt isn’t losing it. The picture I saw of her wasn’t promising. She had that autism face…like she’s going to flip-out any minute. The good news is there are plenty of wingmen. I am concerned if she loses it in the cabin w/support…there’s nowhere to run. #Autism #MeltDowns #ASD #AutismAwareness
I saw a picture of Britt on the Disney ship basketball court, and she looks super grumpy, omg. She looked happy boarding the ship, but her mood switched like a light. Pics from her boarding after being in the car for 5 hours picking everyone up and driving to the port. #Autism #autistic #AutismAwareness
My son broke his leg on the Disney cruise playing basketball. He broke it before the ship left the Port Canaveral dock! Are you kidding me, son. My boy 😩😥😫
Britt brother said Britt started getting amped up at the welcome buffet, so she’s on her 2nd meltdown. Support said she finally calmed down. I’m hoping this behavior doesn’t become the cruise norm…. #Autism #DisneyCruise #Nonverbal
We have Britt on a diet. So far, she lost 26lbs. It’s been a long, bumpy road, but we’re determined to get her back to ideal weight to keep her active & healthy.
Both my kids on the Disney cruise for 1 hr. I just heard that Britt’s having an intense/severe meltdown in the cabin w/support and my son broke his foot playing basketball on the deck. Other than that… #DisneyCruise #Autism #Meltdowns #ASD
Britt left for the Disney cruise this morning. Her bro/SIL/baby nephew already picked her up. She started out the morning with some autism drama, but by the time they arrived, she calmed down. A good reason to always leave extra time on the schedule, to let her regulate her moods. Support has plenty of wingmen on board. #Travelingwithautism #Autistic
Britt is leaving for the Disney cruise tomorrow morning w/her dad. Support is going too. This is Britt's 36th Disney cruise, every year since a baby. She knows the drill well, which doesn't guarantee no autism drama. Last year she had a massive meltdown in at the bingo game. I'm hoping no drama this year. One day at a time. #Autism #autismo #asd #NonVerbal
Hi all-we’re getting a deluge of rain in Fl. As many of you know, Britt and I no longer live on the beach. We’re now inland. We are on a little pond, a big change from my previous view, but time marches on and change does happen. #Autism
We suddenly have a blackout , it’s been raining all day. I immediately went to check on Britt since I know she was watching TV in her room & the house is so dark. I saw light under her door😱. I was thrilled to see that she found & opened her emergency lantern. It’s the little things…

Britt with support. This lady has been with Britt for 14yrs. Shes an earth angel. I couldn’t do autism without her. The other lady that was with Britt for 14yrs has cancer & had to resign.
Mosquito sprayer just went by. The county we live in has a Dengue Fever outbreak. We’re under a state of emergency as of today due to the rising cases. Never a dull moment…
When Britt’s brother married several years ago, Britt was a bridesmaid. She’s been a bridesmaid before, so she knew the routine. Britt walked down the church isle by herself with a smile & an air of confidence…brought tears to many eyes💙. She danced all night at the reception. She loves parties.
A iconic moment: throwback from 11yrs ago, Brittany went to see the pope in Rome with her dad. Amongst thousands of people, the pope saw Britt, came up to her, held her hand, made eye contact. He prayed over her. We don’t know what Britt was thinking verbally, but her face tells a story. #Autism #autismo #ASD #Pope #Rome #Italy
