For Jody Watley’s 1990 video of the Cole Porter classic “After You, Who?” — featured on the landmark Red Hot + Blue album and film project benefiting the fight against HIV/AIDS — Mackie contributed the stunning beaded gown Jody wears in the video “..his designs inspired me from my childhood and what an honor to wear one of his designs in my solo career and for such an important project ..”
It was the perfect meeting of music, fashion and artistry: Jody’s sophisticated jazz interpretation of a Cole Porter classic, framed by the timeless glamour of Bob Mackie.
