Tomorrow being a Monday, If you're in Nairobi, currently unemployed, and don't mind doing casual work to make some money, here are a few places worth trying .
You don't necessarily need connections or a long application process. Some businesses occasionally pick casual workers directly at their gates, especially for loading, offloading, deliveries, packaging and general warehouse work.
Carry your National ID, show up early, ask around and be ready to work.
Here are 15 places to try:
The Online Safety Bill 2026
Kenyan Parliament is proposing a major change to how children use social media.
Under the Online Safety Bill, 2026, sponsored by Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje, no child below 18 would be allowed to access platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, X and TikTok without verified parental consent.
Platforms would be required to use highly effective age verification or age estimation to confirm whether a user is a child. Suggested methods include credit card checks, cross-referencing a parent's identity, and decentralized digital identity verification.
They would also be required to assess risks like grooming, predatory contact, cyberbullying and harmful algorithms at least once a year, and restrict access to harmful content.
If they fail, they could face fines of up to KSh500 million or 10% of their annual global turnover, whichever is higher. Senior executives could face up to KSh10 million in fines or up to 5 years in prison.
Is it long overdue?

Imagine a man who had spent years mastering the machinery of government having to admit that he had been outplayed by a former teacher who would eventually earn the nickname “the professor of politics.”
This is the story of Charles Njonjo, the “Duke of Kabeteshire,” and Moi..🧵

Saf is huge. Wow
Safaricom Group's half-year profit jumped 73% to Sh50.3 billion in FY2026/27, up from Sh29.1 billion a year earlier.
The surge was driven by strong growth in Kenya - M-Pesa continues to be the engine, with more transactions, lending, and payments, while mobile data is growing as more customers buy bundles and use smartphones.
In Ethiopia, losses are narrowing as the subscriber base grows and the network expands, easing the drag on group earnings.
In short: Kenya is carrying the growth, and Ethiopia is finally starting to cost less.

As we approach the country's upcoming general elections, we will be highlighting some themes around the our Kenyan voting process.
Are you aware of issues like the roles of the six elective positions in the government and their responsibilities to the common mwananchi?

My biggest concern is when teaching jobs are handed out by members of Parliament sometimes in rallies or funerals to further a political agenda. Do we know how badly this affects the quality of education? Teachers getting jobs not because they qualify but because of politics

William Ruto really paid Carlos Trujillo's PR firm, Continental Strategy LLC, 325 million for an audience with Trump, and guess the outcome of the meeting; he signed away Kenya's health data, imported ebola and gave away trillions worth of our rare earth minerals.
Guys, you remember that land ya Karen ya that lady?
Kumbe ni Ruto anadai bana. Team Maraga is on it.
Stabex wants to set a new petrol station hapo. I know Rutos tactics. Yeye uforce you iut by buying. Watu wa Uasin Gishu wanajua how he arrogantly bought them out of their lands. He is a master in this.
She needs noise online.

I hope you have seen how lucrative countries abroad are making it increasingly difficult for immigrants to work and settle there as time goes by. At this point, we have no option but to make systems work in our own countries.

Nothing is as toxic to the human body as the ink used to print supermarket reciepts.
The World Bank just put Kenya on blast.
According to WB, corruption and misuse of public funds have been documented across almost every major sector that touches ordinary Kenyans' lives:
1. New stadium construction — billions spent, yet stadiums remain incomplete or substandard.
2. New health insurance system — involving fictitious entities. Ghost facilities and fake claims draining money meant for healthcare.
3. SGR construction — Kenya's most expensive infrastructure project, long dogged by inflated costs and procurement queries.
4. Pipeline projects — fuel pipeline deals with opaque tendering and cost overruns.
5. Dam projects — dams that were paid for but never built, or stalled for years while communities still lack water.
6. Road construction — roads that wash away after one rainy season despite full payment.
7. Education construction projects — classrooms and schools that exist only on paper.
8. Public water utilities — water projects where funds disappear while taps run dry.
9. Power utilities — inflated power deals that Kenyans end up paying for through high electricity bills.
10. County government projects — devolution money lost to ghost projects and inflated tenders.
This ends at hospitals without drugs, schools without classrooms, water that never reaches homes, and power that costs too much.
The question now is: will anyone be held accountable, or will this become just another report?
