The many beat the money. The people beat the corporations and special interests. Hope beat hate and fear.  Michigan, we won.

For the first time in US history, a gay man, a Black woman, a Muslim, Native American woman, Palestinian, and Latina have won their respective midterm elections.

I am so happy that Bernie Sanders is with us today to be able to see the fruits of his labor. He cultivated a whole generation of young leaders through the movement he spawned who are now winning seats everywhere. And he gets to live to witness it. Thank you, Bernie.

This isn’t just a #BlueWave it’s a #bluenami The Democrats have taken back control of the House, with an estimated MINIMUM of 235 Democratic seats to 160 Republican (218 needed) Controlling the House means the majority party elects the speaker (getting rid of the Trump sycophant Mike Johnson), chairs every committee and decides which bills get a vote. Committee chairs can issue subpoenas and run oversight investigations. All spending bills must pass the House, giving the majority leverage over funding. The House can also impeach by a simple majority. It cannot pass laws alone: the Senate must agree and the president can veto. Next: the Senate. Republicans held 53 seats to Democrats' 47 going into the election (independents who caucus with Democrats counted as Democrats). Control takes 51 seats, because the vice president, a Republican, breaks 50–50 ties. So Democrats need a net gain of four seats. Controlling both houses would add the Senate's powers: setting its agenda, chairing its committees, and confirming or blocking the president's nominees, including judges and cabinet members. Congress could then pass its own bills, but the president can still veto them, and overriding a veto needs two-thirds of both chambers. Most Senate legislation also needs 60 votes to get past a filibuster. Removing an official after impeachment needs a two-thirds Senate vote. After 10 long years of insanity this is finally a complete repudiation of Trumps chaotic, corrupt and incompetent leadership. He is now a lame duck President. MAGA is dead. America has finally woken up. The blue wave is a bluenami Never felt more like watching Fox and skynews in my life 🤣🤣

It is my honor and privilege to be headed to the US Senate to serve the great state of Michigan.  Michigan, we did what they said couldn’t be done. We won. Together. Now the real work begins.

The entire Democratic Party owes a massive debt of gratitude to Zohran Mamdani. Before his rapid rise, the party was largely rudderless, suffering from a loss of direction, momentum, and self-confidence. By drifting away from the working class, the party naturally saw voters walk away in response. Mamdani single-handedly corrected the course, bringing vital energy, ideological clarity, and an authentic connection back to the very people who had been left behind. Without his influence, the party’s current standing would look very different.

The reason Christopher Nolan almost never shows Agamemnon’s face in The Odyssey is one of the smartest choices in the whole film. He’s kept inside that towering black armor and helmet for nearly every appearance. You get the silhouette, the presence, the weight of him as the commander who led the Greeks into Troy, but almost nothing of the man underneath. The only real glimpse comes later, when the story of his death is told, and even then it’s brief and carefully framed. Nolan turns him into a symbol instead of just another character. In Odysseus’ memory, Agamemnon isn’t a complicated king with a face and a private life. He’s the embodiment of the war itself — relentless, faceless, and terrifying. Showing Benny Safdie’s face would have humanized him. Keeping it hidden makes him feel like a force of destruction that Odysseus can’t fully look at or escape. I absolutely love how Nolan handled him. Most adaptations would have given the big commander clear emotional beats and close-ups. This version refuses that. Agamemnon stays larger than life and slightly inhuman, which makes every scene he’s in feel heavier. It’s pure visual storytelling, and it works perfectly. #theodyssey

Sheryl Crow speaks out after Trump’s UFC 250 event: “To stay quiet means to turn a blind eye. And so I am saying this. What happened last night on the lawn of the White House was disgraceful and void of decency. Powerful, rich people filled the lawn to watch a violent sport that ended with a vile and racist comment. All while the average American cannot afford healthcare, gas, and cost of living. Do not be fooled. This administration is corrupt and does not give a damn about the American people. It only cares about making money hand over fist at the expense and in spite of our democracy. If we continue to support this kind of distraction from reality, we are no better than them. Let's be better, America.”
