Golf, at its essence, is an individual sport. The fortunate few have a dependable caddie to help them along the way. But each golfer is unique - ask anu caddie - in subtle yet specific ways. The routine creates a rhythm essential to their success. Even a mild disturbance can disrupt the procedure and adversely affect their performance when competing at this elite level. Monsters of habit they are - or can be.
Anyone who believes they are a top competitive golfer or asoires to be or even anyone who appreciates elite performance, should watch the short game clinic Shane Lowry put on display on the weekend in routing Irish Open field. Excellent course management also - leaving ball where his touch and execution and putter allowed him to save pars. Sure didnt look like 21 under off tee or on approach.
