A lot of y’all enter relationships with trauma from your past relationships & expect ya partner to change who they are instead of working on your insecurities/jealousy. Example: Yall either been in a situation where somebody used social media to cheat on you or know somebody who has been. Now all of a sudden you’re questioning why ya partner is liking pictures of ppl they follow (which is the entire point of specific apps) and will say shit like “if you love me you’d just stop liking people’s pictures” (which isn’t a boundary it’s just controlling) or “I’ll delete my social media for a healthy relationship” not questioning how the relationship is healthy if social media is causing a divide. Am I saying people don’t cheat? No. Am I saying people can’t use social media as a way to cheat? No. What I am saying is ppl cheated before Instagram existed and trying to control somebody’s access to it bc you think they could use it to cheat is definitely just a response from not healing from that past partner or experience and projecting that on to them.
