Super proud of my Grandfather.
Congrats to Dr. Garry Lacefield on receiving the Friend of Beef Extension award from UK Beef Extension today.
For 52 yeas as @UKExtension Forage Specialist (active & emeritus) he dedicated a career to helping KY farmers produce better forages--knowing great hay & pasture mean better cattle & stronger farms.
A true champion for #KYAG

Billy Ray Smith was a legend, a mentor, & a friend.
I’m proud that at the last speech I gave from an appointed position, he & my father were in the front row. Wish WH & FP had been there too.
I live in their shadow!

Heaven gained a great farmer, family man, and Commissioner of Agriculture on Saturday. Billy Ray Smith was not only a wonderful person, but also a close mentor of mine and countless others over the decades. I met him in 6th grade at the Kentucky State Fair competing in 4-H…
