Yeah its blood money. Yeah, its people have had their lives ruined money. Yeah, that government and many of the folks in their pocket are complicit if not responsible for atrocities. However now they're funding EVO.
To those not directly affected BY any of the negatives? Their regions and communities now have opportunities they could have only dreamed about years ago. Certain games with strong regional scenes can now get their own EVO. Players that you never would've heard of due to not being able to travel internationally get a platform to shine on. There are now going to be tournament organizers who have spent the last decade plus running events at the cost of a financial bludgeoning, finally able to attain a profit.
For some the cons and who is putting up the cash does not outweigh the positives for themselves. Does having more EVOs take from the prestige of EVO Vegas? Absolutely. In the grand scheme, that does not matter to most people. There's people who are multi-time EVO champs who I'm sure you don't respect.
Im not someone who wants to support that governing body (or most worldwide) but if some people can get the bag doing something WE LOVE? I'm not going to sit here and advocate they ignore their dreams, financial situations, or opportunities just because of whose name is on the check. I just know I won't be there.
I've never understood the concept of expecting people who have ONLY ever acted out of self interest to suddenly become a hero to a community once they get some clout? Is it the whole "Cult of Personality" thing?
This Street Fighter Movie is about as accurate to the characters as M. Night Shamylan's Avatar was. But the fight scenes are kinda cool. So if you were looking for fleshed out lore? Don't bother. You wanted a sometimes funny, hype moment, and random aura farms? Buy your ticket.

All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.

The guys at CTWC Minnesota are way too knowledgeable that even my usual commentary brain couldn't pull off easily.

There's only ONE lesson I hope people take from that dog shit documentary. Many content content creators are willing to let heinous shit happen if there's content to be made & clout to be farmed.
I unfortunately decided to take a few minutes to watch that EDP documentary. 11 minutes later I've experienced 14 different 9/11 Level impacts to my retinas.

They're right. Besides the intro helping the GFED troopers, 20% of the Ice Belt facility, and 5 specific bosses...the game gives you nothing but disappointment. Oh and I guess its funny they call that substance... "GREEN ENERGY™"?
