My little $40 FPGA can beat your big bad GPU. Prove me wrong and win 0.1 BTC.
I designed a proof-of-work called BRAM-ring. A $40 Efinix Tz170 does 37,100 H/s on it. The best anyone has managed on a GPU is 1,493 H/s, on a $499 RTX 3070. Per dollar the little chip wins by more than 100×, and I don't think any GPU, CPU, NPU or other off-the-shelf hardware can close that gap.
The bounty:
• 0.1 BTC to the first person who shows non-FPGA hardware at or above 371 H/s per dollar
• 0.01 BTC every time someone beats my GPU or CPU kernel by 10% (bit-exact, measured on my machine, the bar ratchets)
• 0.01 BTC for a real shortcut in the function: half the work per hash, counted not timed

A couple of weeks ago, we released Nexa Full Node 2.2.0.0, which includes major preparatory work for integrating the Tailstorm protocol.
If you already run a node, please update to the latest version if you haven't done so yet. If you don't run one yet, now is an ideal time to join the network.
Tailstorm will transform the traditional linear proof-of-work model into a modern hybrid by introducing subblocks between summary blocks.
In practice, subblocks will be mined every 3 seconds on average, in between the traditional summary blocks.
These subblocks form a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) that is held only in RAM, and every 40 subblocks are bundled into a summary block.
Summary blocks will continue to arrive every 2 minutes on average, while subblocks will confirm within about 3 seconds that your transaction is being mined.
By combining a traditional blockchain with a DAG, this hybrid model delivers fast confirmations, fair mining, and stronger decentralization, while preserving the core strengths of a blockchain.

Nexa is moving forward with protocol advancements, and we advise everyone to update their node clients to the most recent version.
This version includes rolling checkpoints. Once a block sits 200 deep in the chain, the node marks it as settled. From that depth it is set in stone, and any reorganization past that point is rejected.
For exchanges and services the implication is concrete: after 200 confirmations, a transaction cannot be reversed.
This is also the final release before the upcoming hard-fork and Tailstorm protocol activation. It is important to stay with consensus and update your clients. 👇

The NEXA community in India is growing organically as active users bring new people into the ecosystem, according to NEXA Ambassador Dhamma Dana. Dana estimates that India now has 4,000 to 5,000 dedicated users, while the broader NEXA user base already stands at 10,000+.

These figures are Dana’s community estimate of dedicated and broader users, not an independently audited user report. They align with visible activity in India, where local meetups, ambassador work and grassroots initiatives are driving adoption.
Growth through the network effect
“I think the user base can grow 10x from here relatively quickly because active users are continuously bringing new people into the ecosystem.”
According to Dana, that acceleration does not depend on paid campaigns, but on community-driven adoption: existing users keep bringing new participants in.
Outlook to 2030
“If this network effect keeps compounding, 10x growth can eventually turn into 100x growth. My personal expectation is that by 2030, the number of people using NEXA could potentially be around 100 times higher than today.”

A 100-fold increase from today’s broader base of 10,000+ users would point toward a potential of around one million users by 2030. Dana stresses that this is a personal expectation, not a forecast or a commitment.

Outside of my career in crypto, I run a humanitarian and social impact mission. I founded Shekinah House many years ago; last year we worked to support the rescue of 6 underaged minors from human trafficking in Cambodia alongside INO Projects who are based there.
👉 Today, I have been in connection with my contacts in Nepal, seeking to understand the scope of what’s needed on the ground in the regions along the affected areas of the flood path.
There is a group of volunteers based in the Dhading District who are mobilising this week.
They informed us that the following are needed:
- Flood Relief & Emergency Groceries: Build a reserve of rice, lentils, oil, vegetables, clean water and other essentials.
- Temporary Accommodation: Mattresses, blankets, bedding, sanitation supplies and safe sleeping space for flood-affected families or children who need short-term shelter.
My org will be supporting them. This post is an invitation if you feel called to do the same.
Crypto payments are accepted in the form of USDT. @BitcoinCashOG is also accepted, I’m informed. I also have bank account details for direct transfer to Nepal for the organisation of volunteers.

There are people, Jobs, Musk, etc, who tend to see through the fog and make good decisions. In the early days, I thought sociologists should study early adopters as a group to puzzle out this capability.
But interacting with maximalists (really they should be called minimalist) has made it absolutely clear that luck and indoctrination into alt-cultures explains these people's involvement, since they have not made a single sensible decision since. The key "digital gold" argument (crypto is a better gold), requires innovation or the same argument is applicable to move away from BTC to an innovative altcoin.
One thing you missed was that, unbelievably to me, the pernicious maxi culture carried over into BCH! All the same rejections of new features, dismissal of alts, etc was there. The lack of rational analysis -- "Core except big blocks" philosophy dominated during the ABC years, resulting in almost no technical progress, a culture of exclusion, and the coalition that Roger, Jihan, and I built started splintering just months after Bitcoin Unlimited was no longer the primary client.
While BTC can continue relying on its first mover advantage, BCH needed to innovate quickly to counter it. This persistent irrationality was why I founded Nexa.
