After I published my article on Korean adoptees today, a professor at an R1 university wrote to me: "It's a pity I can't assign this in one of my quantitative methods classes."
I got his point, but asked what exactly was stopping him. He wrote the following:
"In one sense, nothing. I have tenure and academic freedom and I don't think I would face the kind of Amy Wax style retaliation that FIRE could sue over. But there would be consequences. The most immediate would be that I would no longer teach or advise grad students – and not because the department chair was punishing me but because students would refuse to take my classes or have me on their dissertation committees. But the more important thing is reserving my credibility for when it is most likely to be effective. You want people to take you seriously when you speak in a faculty meeting or advocate a policy at your university or in your discipline. This isn't careerism, it's about strategic understanding of picking battles to have the most impact, especially given that I am not teaching about inequality and there are other ways to teach the auxiliary hypothesis problem that would be much more effective because they wouldn't make students too upset to appreciate the methodological point."
Good demonstration of how academic pressure comes from below. You can have all the free speech protections you want, and maybe you won't be disciplined or fired, but no law or regulation can stop students from refusing to take your classes, other academics from not wanting to write papers with you, etc.

Most people know about the Glass Ceiling.
Far fewer talk about the Glass Floor, or the Glass Wall.
In his provocative essay The Glass Floor and the Glass Wall, published in New Male Studies, Tim Goldich asks us to look not only up at society’s most powerful positions, but down at its most dangerous and undesirable ones:
newmalestudies.com/OJS/index…
The same social structures that historically constrained women’s rise to the top, Goldich argues, also helped insulate women from the very bottom: mine shafts, prison cells, foxholes, homelessness and hazardous labour.
Look at the whole pyramid and a vastly different picture emerges...
Men have disproportionately occupied both extremes: the boardroom at the top, but also the battlefield, prison, dangerous workplace and street at the bottom.
Goldich captures the asymmetry memorably:
“For every one CEO there have been many POWs.”
Then there is the Glass Wall: men looking into a world of intimacy, vulnerability, home, family, parenting and belonging, while traditionally being expected to earn their value through providing, protecting, performing and achieving.
Goldich’s argument isn't that women have had it easy. It's that removing the ceiling while ignoring the floor and wall cannot give us the whole story of gender equality...
Perhaps his most powerful observation is this:
“The opposite of love isn’t hate: it is indifference.”
We readily notice the small number of elite men at the top. But how often do we notice the vastly greater number of men carrying burdens at the bottom?
The image says it beautifully: "never settle for less".
But also remember who makes it possible for you to have more...

I'm going to get piled on for saying this, but the reason I find the Jew-hate so disturbing isn't primarily because I'm Jewish. It's because it's so unbelievably obviously a symptom of a far deeper moral and intellectual rot. It stems directly from the mass importation into our societies of forms of third-worldist, conspiratorial, anti-Western bigotry that are absolutely commonplace in the Islamic world. It was always obvious progressives would cave in the face of that. But watching many conservatives so sheepishly capitulate too, and top influencers desperately go along with it to try and hoover up clicks and likes from a massive, mostly foreign Islamic social media base has been mind-blowing, if not entirely surprising with hindsight.
It's, obviously, not going to stop with the Jews. We can literally see the same people wiping out Christians in their hundreds of thousands, right now. The question is do our societies have the intellectual fortitude to deal with this relatively idiotic but deeply sinister new challenge?

The savagery of October 7 caused too much cognitive dissonance with the progressive image of noble white-hearted Palestinian and wicked Israeli. They NEED the genocide narrative as a psychological corrective to return equilibrium to their internal worldview.

There’s only a couple things I know for certain. High on the list is that if a person has a “hate has no place here” sign in their front yard, hate most definitely has a pretty prominent place there…

Here are ten grotesque hoaxes that permanently broke corporate journalism and exposed their cartel forever.
Legacy media executives feign bewilderment over their cratering credibility, yet the historical record tells an undeniable story. The collapse of public trust was earned through calculated psychological operations, doctored footage, and deliberate institutional fraud. They demanded you ignore your own eyes, surrender basic common sense, and treat blatant partisan propaganda as sacred scripture.
1. The "Fiery But Mostly Peaceful" Spectacle (CNN, 2020)
Ali Velshi stood in front of towering infernos consuming Kenosha storefronts while the lower-third graphic insisted the scene was "mostly peaceful." The broadcast demanded viewers distrust their own eyes to protect the regime's preferred civil unrest.
2. The Covington Catholic Character Assassination (2019)
Legacy networks selectively sliced footage of teenager Nick Sandmann standing motionless while an activist banged a drum inches from his face. The media branded a quiet high schooler as the face of white supremacy, triggering multi-million dollar defamation settlements once uncut footage destroyed the script.
3. The Jussie Smollett Hate Crime Fable (2019)
Anchors uncritically broadcast an absurd fairy tale featuring sub-zero Chicago temperatures, roving assailants carrying bleach, and an intact noose. Newsrooms substituted basic police reporting with cheap racial melodrama, crowning a mediocre actor a martyr before Chicago police dismantled the fraud.
4. The Hunter Biden Laptop Suppression (2020)
Fifty-one retired intelligence operatives signed a letter laundering genuine domestic corruption as foreign influence. Corporate networks obediently censored the report right before a presidential election, only verifying the laptop years later when political consequences had expired.
5. The Charlottesville "Very Fine People" Deception (2017)
Cable news ran a heavily edited nine-second soundbite to convince the public that a sitting president endorsed white supremacists. They buried the explicit sentence spoken moments later condemning neo-Nazis entirely. Networks weaponized this lie for seven consecutive years.
6. The Border Patrol "Whips" Fabrication (2021)
Anchors and politicians accused mounted border agents of using whips against Haitian migrants along the Rio Grande. Even after the civilian photographer publicly testified that agents used split reins to control horses, the media kept the smear alive to paralyze sovereign enforcement.
7. The Automotive "Bloodbath" Panic (2024)
Commentators clipped a speech analyzing Chinese auto tariffs and manufactured a panic about nationwide political slaughter. Outlets coordinated identical headlines across digital platforms, deliberately deceiving voters to produce cheap campaign fear.
Clip Search: Trump bloodbath auto industry speech full context
8. The Steele Dossier Collusion Hoax (2016 to 2019)
Cable hosts spent years reading unverified opposition research funded by political opponents as sacred scripture. Pundits guaranteed imminent treason indictments on prime-time television, harvesting viewer paranoia to fuel a multi-million-dollar ratings racket built on zero evidence.
9. The "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" Myth (2014)
Pundits raised their hands on air to validate an execution narrative that never happened in Ferguson. The federal Justice Department ultimately demolished the story using forensic ballistics, yet networks permanently embedded the fabrication into modern cultural folklore.
10. The Wuhan Lab Leak "Racist Conspiracy" Blackout (2020)
Legacy reporters branded the virology laboratory hypothesis a xenophobic delusion to protect international bureaucracies and federal research grants. Once evidence made the scenario undeniable, the press pivoted without acknowledging their coordinated suppression of scientific inquiry.
These ten hoaxes barely scratch the surface of a decades-long catalog of engineered deception. X has character limits, and modern server infrastructure has physical constraints. Documenting every single fabrication produced by the left-wing press would literally require paving the entire surface of the moon with data centers. The legacy cartel traded its credibility for partisan propaganda, and the American public permanently revoked its trust. The monopoly is broken, the curtain is down, and their authority will never return.

There are many differences between the right and the left, but this gets at one of the most important, in my opinion: It would never occur to me or any of my friends to play dress up to celebrate somebody's horrific murder in front of those who loved and admired him, and it would be completely impossible for me to collect a dozen people to tag along and applaud as I did it.
But on the left, this is easy, and variations on it happen all the time.
We are different kinds of people.

Trump thinks he can bully Canada and push us around. He's wrong. The only groups capable of that are: Indiginous tribes greater than 10 people, the CRA, Sikhs, public sector unions, dairy + cheese farmers, Muslims, climate alarmists, public health units, trans and 🏳️🌈 people.

the funny thing is that they never seem to parse 'if my beliefs are correct why cant i take them into the real world and use them to make money/gain power'
if you hold some superior view on the world that gives you special insight you should be able to use it to achieve things

The West is not dying of toxic masculinity. It is dying of toxic femininity.
Western institutions have adopted a pathological, feminised morality: compassion without judgement, inclusion without boundaries, empathy without reciprocity, and care without any instinct for self-preservation.
But make no mistake: none of this is selfless or genuine. It is the narcissistic codependency of a satiated and morally decadent elite, disguised as compassion.

It is objectively weird that we teach random racially charged crimes from a century ago, while ignoring the crimes that happen today. And sure you can say it would be inappropriate and create a hostile racial environment if schools and the media would endlessly call attention to these acts of racial violence, but yeah, that’s largely the point…

A new Finnish nationwide register study has been published.
They looked into every under-23 who contacted Finland’s gender clinics from 1996–2019.
2,083 children and young adults vs 16,643 matched controls, followed in mandatory national health registers (so basically the full country picture).
What they found
- Gender-referred youth had far more serious psychiatric illness than peers — before referral (~46% vs ~15%) and it increased ≥2 years after (~62% vs ~15%).
- Kids referred after 2010 arrived with more psychiatric need than earlier cohorts.
- Among those who got medical “gender reassignment,” psychiatric morbidity INCREASED over follow-up (about 10% → 61% for feminising pathways; ~22% → ~55% for masculinising).
- Authors’ bottom line: psychiatric needs do not go away after medical reassignment!
A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.
How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?

They believe that the value of the University of California credential and the opportunities it unlocks exist independently of the competitiveness of its admissions, the rigor of its grading or the quality of the students. What do they think makes Berkeley different from Chico State?
The University of California Board of Regents heard presentations on the SAT on Wednesday, specifically on whether it should be re-introduced into freshman admissions.
I found the below excerpt from one presentation illuminating:
"the statistical power of tests in predicting outcomes does not address whether UC ought to consider expected college success when deciding which students to admit, or to what extent we should"
So, it's clear the debate is not centered on whether the SAT predicts college success -- the presenter says so himself. The heart of the debate is this: a UC education is a path to upward mobility, and the anti-SAT faction believe that this golden ticket should be given to those who would benefit from it the most, especially those who they feel have been harmed by society in the past as a form of restorative justice.
If you hold this viewpoint, the increased failure rates in intro math classes and the surge in student unpreparedness are irrelevant.

Lots of people discuss immigration & crime in Europe, so I compiled what I think is ALL the data on the topic, which is hard because many countries hide it.
Do they commit more crime?
Is it because of age? Sex? Education? Poverty? Culture?
