Florida's most heroic effort to extend its scoring streak came when it lost the Las Vegas Bowl 30-3 to Oregon State by kicking a FG with 37 seconds left in 2022. That was the full commitment to the streak.

Since the SEC’s new TV deal began in 2024, LSU has played 16 of its 19 home games at night (84%). Georgia and Mississippi State? Just 4 of 18 (22%). It gets even worse when you look strictly at SEC conference games. LSU has hosted EIGHT at night. More than Ole Miss and Georgia COMBINED. Mississippi State has hosted ONE. Night games matter for recruiting, atmosphere, attendance and home-field advantage. How does the SEC justify this kind of disparity? And how is it fair to the fans spending thousands on season tickets?

Yes, there has been a lot of parity in the regular season. But to keep it in perspective, the teams currently with the 5 best national title odds were all preseason top 10. Notre Dame +460, (preseason No. 4) Georgia +470 (No. 2) Ohio State +520 (No. 1) Miami +580 (No. 7) Indiana +750 (No. 6)

For further perspective, these are the national title odds for teams currently sitting alone in first place in their conferences. Utah 48-to-1 UCLA 74-to-1 Kentucky 94-to-1 Is the national title race as wide open as it’s ever been?

The timing on the schedule of Ole Miss’ trips to Florida and Texas turned out to be extremely sub optimal. The Gators and Horns have had some complete stinkers this year but were at their absolute best the week the Rebels visited.
