Not sure if this happens, but if price wants to retest the last high volume area before the market structure break, then the RR on that short trade would be ideal to me.
Critically, this would also mean sweeping last weeks high too.
Those untested lows around $702 will be taken out in the near future.

Psychology is truly fascinating. Anyone who says it’s overrated hasn’t managed a desk.
Every day I see traders with no edge happily turn up and punt away, with zero fear. Then someone comes along with an actual, demonstrable edge, one that outperforms all of them, yet he’s constantly scared to execute.

AI doesn’t have to fail for AI stocks to fall. The money just has to dry up.
Is the race to fund AI’s massive buildout putting the stock market at risk?

Potential weekly range deviation.
I can't lie, this looks bad. If we look at the daily PA along with volume on the assumed weekly structure breakout move, it was very weak and very unsustainable.
The very opposite of the 2023 breakout that so many try to compare it to.
I remain unconvinced that this was a true HTF structural break, for now. I'll flip bias if the BTC can push back above that key weekly level with convincing volume.
$BTC
2023 weekly breakout versus the 2026 weekly breakout.
Let's compare the two, bearing in mind that this week's candle hasn't closed yet (Sunday 18th).
- Fundamental cumulative volume difference?
Looking at Cumulative Volume Delta during the two breakouts, what difference is there? During the 2023 breakout, price spent at least 7 weeks above the breakout level while volume delta spikes strongly into positive territory alongside the price breakout and generally stayed elevated. Makes sense - Price breaks out and lots of market buyers are hitting the bid consistently across multiple weeks.
The problem with this year's apparent weekly breakout?
The breakout expansion is not backed by sustained positive cumulative buying volume. The rally is likely driven by huge short liquidations (confirmed by OI activity) rather than organic spot bidding.
We'll see how this week closes. But if these differences of volume delta suggest a bull trap above 82,500, Bitcoin could be about to give us an extraordinarily brutal bearish move, shocking anyone who believed in the weekly breakout at face value.

One of the most overused phrases I'm seeing from Twitter traders today is: ''Comfy in spot. No concerns'' etc etc
Firstly, this strikes me as cope psychology from people who's recent perps trading got rekt.
But more importantly, it makes me think that a macro bottom won't arrive until these so-called ''comfy in spot'' people are given a real reason to worry...
For that reason - along with technical factors, I think $BTC goes significantly lower.

Inverted chart with local volume value ranges.
First impression. Don't hesitate. What do you see?
Note: Blue line is 200 day MA.
Take note. Good trading advice
Textbook range high deviation on $BTC
One of the best pieces of advice I can give:
Always bet that it's a deviation, not a breakout. A breakout only happens once, deviations happen many times. So statistically it's EV+ to bet on a reversal than a continuation.

$XAU {Gold}
Previous low swept.
Very strong 30m CVD divergence.
Great RR here to the value area high.
Very hard not to take a shot at this one with some sensible risk management.

$SOL short update
The bigger picture idea. I think $SOL is back within a previous value range and I think it rotates back to the old value area low.
Shorting $SOL here
- Volume diverging from price outside the local value area.
- Twitter sentiment stupidly bullish. Bearish accounts capitulating
- 30m CVD market buys are positive against a negative candle (Big limit sells probably absorbing late buyers)

Hard rejection from the Value area high of this local profile. Plus it swept Monday's high.
Not good at all. I think this move really needed to break out for real. Now it's just a bearish deviation and a revisit to the value area low will likely break down below the entire value area in general.
