Is our 🇬🇧government charging these exorbitant fees to punish, discourage, or raise funds through applicants because they don't reflect genuine administrative costs. How do you expect an 18 year old to afford £1000 fees?

A couple of weeks ago, I was drafted in to help organise a "Passport Intervention excercise " to get 1000 Nigerians in for Biometrics Capture in Manchester. I spent hours getting people registered for the event and booked up over 900 places, 175 a day.
Imagine the horror of people turning up but not being seen
The clever people of the Immigration Section only turned up in Manchester with just 1 machine!!!! On the 1st day, only 96 out of 175 applicants were seen.
I can bet my life that a report of a successful program is being written to be presented to the Minister @BTOofficial . The extreme opposite is the case. As at today Thursday, backlogs from Monday of people who travelled from all across the UK are still being attended to!!!!
I wonder if the new Interior Minister @BTOofficial is aware of the disgusting service tendered by the Passport Office/Immigration section in London. Highly disgraceful for the 21st century!!!

Staff at @Lagos_Airport (@FAAN_Official, @nigimmigration, @CustomsNG, @nigeriaSecurityagency etc) begging passengers for money has become normalised that they now expect it as a right & downright try to bully you into giving. It has to stop, abeg. It is shameful & embarassing!!!
