Nobody has discipline,loyalty, or respect anymore. It's just selfish individuals looking for the next big handout that they can benefit from. I remember when playing for a university and logo meant something.

Agreed! That goes well beyond college though. Our whole nation is suffering from that. Used to be devotion to the church. Turned into devotion to the family unit. Now, it’s devotion to self interests.

It was also illegal. A very divided Supreme Court ruled 9-0 against the system you look back on with such fondness. The coach could leave. The players couldn’t.

The loyalty problem would get solved if we regulated NIL and had universities pay the players directly at a capped rate. That way no matter where you’re going you get the exact same amount of money for playing whether that’s at Alabama or UTSA and the money is less of a factor

That would be amazing. The only issue is that humans dont follow rules, and under the table paying would happen. I also feel that the transfer portal needs to change. A player should only be allowed one, maybe two transfers throughout his time in NCAA.
