I think defences of migrant rights on the Left needs to move beyond ‘people come here because we bombed them’.
It’s not true. We move here for a variety of reasons and none of these are invalid.
Why is citizenship being linked to claiming benefits?
Claiming benefits is about justice and need.
We're saying that those in need, because of their difficulties, are now barred from citizenship?

📌 Mazloum Abdi, adviser to the Syrian president and former commander of the Kurdish-led SDF, said Kurdish participation in state institutions is essential to Syria’s stability.
📌 He said the integration of civil and military institutions in the northeast is continuing, particularly in education and security.
📌 According to Abdi, attempts to obstruct integration have failed, and the understandings reached between the relevant committees must be preserved and outstanding issues resolved.
📌 Hasakah province is administered with the participation of its communities, Abdi said, calling for Kurdish political and administrative participation in the coming phase.
📌 He said a committee is working to determine the fate and whereabouts of missing people, while efforts continue to ensure the safe return of displaced residents, with the so-called “Arab Belt” land issue in Hasakah also being addressed through legal channels.
