The biggest loser from the CLARITY Act failing?
The banks.
They may have just shot themselves in the foot.
Banks spent months warning about stablecoins draining deposits from the banking system. The CLARITY Act had explicit protections designed to address that exact risk.
Now the bill is dead.
Crypto regulation shifts back towards SEC and CFTC, who don't need to pander to the banks for support.
The banks killed the very legislation that could have saved them, and the consequences could be massive.

Clarity act failed.
FED raised rates.
And crypto didn’t crash.
Rather, it looks like it’s ready to enter a beautiful bull market.
I guess I’ll give it some more time to consolidate.

Congress is now going to sit back and watch the agencies take charge. The rules will be written without them.
The democrats now get nothing in return, no yield ban or ethics.
That’s how dumb they are.
A disappointment, but not a dead end.

Senate Democrats are meeting TONIGHT on the Clarity Act, September 13th.
The attendees include Senators including Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Warner, Ruben Gallego, Lisa Blunt Rochester, Andy Kim, and Angela Alsobrooks are participating in the discussions regarding the bipartisan framework led by Senate Banking GOP negotiators.
The bill requires 60 votes to advance, meaning it needs the backing of all voting Republicans and at least seven Democrats.
Democrats are pushing for stricter, permanent conflict-of-interest prohibitions concerning presidential and familial crypto holdings, whereas the current draft relies on Justice Department oversight that many Democrats deem insufficient.
