I've seen a lot of folks laugh about Model Collapse. I don't think they understood that it predicted the conditions that would lead to it, and they're coming about. Once search dies and the amount of training data is sufficiently artificial, performance will plateau.
Because of AI, nothing works as well as it used to. It destroys value, rather than creating it. History will consider us letting tech folks' wet dreams about magic robots to devalue every interaction with our fellow humans as the gravest error of the 21st century.

So what I don't understand... if you're interested in AI sovereignty, and the technology behind training models is open source and freely accessible, why wouldn't you invest in an actual sovereign model training program? Does Canada get a discount when it licenses from Cohere?

So now that Canada is invested in Cohere without a stake in its governance I can't wait for it to shift its business model to public api endpoint token burning like every other AI service.

This will return us to a status quo where comfortably housed neighbourhoods can veto rentals and more affordable forms of housing. Cities with the will need to move on zoning for affordable rentals now while the market is flexible. ctvnews.ca/vancouver/video/2…

Allow 4-6 storey non-profit housing everywhere. Empower the municipal housing developer to keep builders building. Retain that talent, create good paying jobs, house people who need it, make Vancouver a city for renters.

BC Conservatives have vowed to remove housing targets.

Specifically no more multiplexes or apartments in BC by right. Wherever you stand, at the very least we'll get some definitive data about what supply does to the price of housing.

There has not been a thorough investigation into botting in Canada. Why does this stuff only come up when you mention right wing politicians? #bcpoli

@angeloisidorou I know you have expertise here. What's the deal?

There was a fascinating article about bot farms being used to assume Singh as a pivot point to extract data. The originators of this stuff hasn't been picked up and I really don't understand why. youtube.com/shorts/B1PsbIPU8…

Makes me feel crazy that people don't remember Gordon Campbell or Christy Clark. It makes me embarrassed that branding is that strong.
Out of the roughly 93 years since 1933, right-of-centre parties governed BC for about 63 and the NDP for about 22. facebook.com/share/p/1E7CPod… #bcpoli

Right wingers really are the biggest babies of all time.
A user on X has filed a police report against Green Party leader Emily Lowan for her hateful comments towards Conservatives on election night She said Conservatives should not even exist Do you think the Sannich police will take this complaint seriously?

I think people should think more about why posts about the right summon this kind of bot activity someone is paying for. This only happens on the right. Truly a weak and sad movement. Wholly artificial, nothing but cowardice and hate.

A little late but Bligh left the NPA to protest its movement to the far right, and was kicked out of ABC after contradicting them numerous times. She is experienced, kind. Mayor Pete is buffering a fully new council to avoid the kinds of embarrassing growing pains ABC had.

She's gen Z and if you give a damn about Vancouverites why does any of that matter? Weaver has lost the plot.
I remain concerned about transparency in #bcpoli. My ask of @Emily_Lowan: 1) You claim you're a renter - who are you paying rent to? Your parents? Or someone else? 2) You claimed to be a struggling Gen Xer...how much are the @BCGreens paying you to be leader... $120,000 or nothing? I never accepted a stipend and asked the party to give it to Adam Olsen instead. Answers to these questions are important. I'm sick of hypocrisy in #bcpoli and hope you can prove me wrong.

Quite sad to see what happens when someone gives up all of their beliefs but shambles along with a label they don't even understand anymore for media exposure.

AI companies trying to disprove the Exponential Time Hypothesis which is their greatest enemy ahead of an IPO is very on the nose.

As a media fluent millennial I know GreenDP is right there as a turn of phrase and I would advise against it unless you want to summon a gooner cadre.
